Andrew like myself is also a Host on Turo, you would think this should be an easy rental for me but it was far from that. Andrew didn’t take the time to read the provided information on my rental page. He wanted me to deliver the car to him at a specific address in Leaside. I don’t deliver the ad clearly says that, there is no delivery option where you can put in your address. The only place I deliver is to the Airport. Maybe I’m being unreasonable? The address that he has request is a 45min drive with no traffic, add construction and morning traffic you are looking at 1 hour and 30 mins. It takes me 15min to the airport with traffic. After a long lengthy discussion in the app chat where I told him “NO” he proceeded to call me on my cell where again I proceeded to give him reasons why I couldn’t deliver and finally end with the same answer “NO.” I could hear that he was frustrated when he hung up. I’m like why is this guy giving me such a hard time I should just cancel it, anyways I proceed back to the app where I sent him a message stating that I was “sorry for any inconvenience with my delivery policy and totally understand if you need to cancel”. I got no reply no cancellation. Our trip starts at 10 AM July 11, I send a message to him at 8:20 AM “Goooood Morning Andrew!!Just a reminder I will be at the Airport for 10AM this morning. Please advise me if you are going to be more than 15 mins late. Thanks see you soon! Earl” This was to check to see if he was going to be there or cancel, but I got no reply. At 9:45 My wife and I arrive at the airport to deliver the car I instantly send a message off in the app to Andrew letting him know I was there…. No reply so I called Turo They sent out a message to him and then he replies at 9:49 AM that he won’t be there until 10:20AM. The Turo Rep informs me that I can leave at 10:15 AM without penalty or if I want to wait then that would be up to me. It was only 5 mins more I decided to wait. Andrew did arrive at 10:20 in person he is a very pleasant and well-spoken young man. First rule of thumb when you are late you apologize for being late. He did not, but ok. I proceed to do the walk around the car with Andrew showing him all the scratches, get his documents , give him the keys, we were good to go. We say our goodbyes, and we both left. Our Trips end at 6pm July 14. I send a message at 11:19 AM that morning just to remind him of the time, and if he needs to extend, if not to please clean out the car and fill it with premium gas. That I would meet him at the cell phone parking lot at 6 pm today. Here is where it goes downhill. At 12:13 AM Andrew requested to extend by an hour to 7pm. OMG I had another customer at 11:55 AM request to change his time to 7pm that morning too. I explained to him this funny story and asked him if he could go a little earlier like 6:45pm or a little later like 7:15pm where he said “NO” He now needed 7 pm and he didn’t care about my problems he made it clear that he was dropping the car back to the Airport at 7. I was like “WOW”. I asked him to cut me some slack I waited for you 20 mins when I could have left after 15 mins. He proceeded to tell me that his booking was a considerable amount of revenue and not to pretend I wasn’t going to wait an extra 5 mins, and how I cost him $70 extra dollars on the Uber he had to take to the Airport and that frankly my car wasn’t worth the money. It’s a 2011 BMW 3 series which I try to keep mint and I charge $68 a day with FREE delivery to the Airport after 3 day booking actually one of the cheapest BMW’s and no one offers free delivery after 3 days. Totally reasonable price for the summer months. The saga continues, I called Turo, they called him , he agrees to go for 7:15pm which was reasonable I had offered that time to him but he said no. I bring my wife and daughter to the Airport we deal with the 7 pm return no issues…. Of course Andrew is late and not there for 7:15 PM as agreed. He does call at 7:12 pm telling me he is running late… he gets there at 7:39 pm. He pulls up, I didn’t want to delay him so I said to him lets go right up to the terminal. He asks me if I was going to check the car, I reply is there any damage he says NO.. I reply lets go then. I notice the gas light is on… I say to him hey the gas light is on he tells me that he didn’t have time to full it charge him through the app. Ok I say. We say our goodbyes I head back to the parking lot where my wife and daughter are waiting. I take the post trip pics and we head for home. The car starts to stall not enough gas, so I stop and fill the tank and upload the bill to the app, didn’t even add a service charge for filling up the gas. Andrew returned the car dirty not filthy but dirty what I thought was a mud splash on the passenger side rocker panel turned out to be a big huge scratch, I’m assuming he hit something. I wrote this long review because I needed to justify to myself why I gave this guy one star. This is my first one star review ever, I can always see the good in people. I have 146 5 star reviews where I always give great service. I made sure the car was freshly cleaned, the gas was fully fuelled, and that I was at least 15 mins early for Andrews trip He is rude, unapologetic, and very entitled. He was constantly late, he didn’t communicate on time, he brought back the car dirty, empty and damaged. It was a nightmare for me.
