Solid on gas mileage, this is a sporty, fun car for many reasons ... it's super comfy for driver and passengers with great leg room, even for a tall driver with back seat passengers. Also, it's "stadium seating" so it's more like sitting than bucket seats ... which being tall and/or driving for a long trip makes travel much more relaxing for the back and legs. And, because of this design, driving the manual transmission is easy-peasy -- no strain, even if you hit gridlock traffic (knock on wood).
My FAVORITE, spoiled-rotten feature of this car, are the 2 charging outlets -- one a standard "lighter" style, and the other is a regular 120v outlet. Makes traveling with phones & other devices (iPad/iPod/Laptop) a snap!
Plenty of cup holders & cubbies for storing things on the go and being able to easily reach them without looking or straining, while keeping your eyes on the road. Very minimal blind spots in this car, which will let you feel right at home and master of your new domain as road warrior of mundane errands or adventurous travels!
Lastly, this car parks like a champ for city streets -- excellent turning radius, but also it's smaller than a Honda Accord 2-door. Yet, this is a storage beast! Back seats drop, and the front passenger seats folds down, too! From camping to hunting down a Christmas tree, this car will handle it all -- trust me!
There is a SUPER CHEAP gas station a couple blocks from the pick-up/drop-off location. (Trust me, it usually is the best deal in town and surrounding towns by 5-15 cents.) So to save yourself a little pocket change, be sure to make note of this addy:
979 Boulevard E
Weehawken, NJ 07086
TO GET HERE:
Option A: From the Port Authority it's NJ Transit Bus No. 165, with a zone 2 ticket ($3.20, one-way), and it usually leaves from Gate 212 -- but do check all this info at the ticket desk -- it is a 10-15 minutes bus ride right to my block. The destination is Blvd. East in Weehawken, the Liberty Place/El Dorado stop. (it's literally one of the first 5 stops out of the city).
Option B: From across the Port Authority on 42nd Street, b/t 8th & 9th on the northside of the street (right at the Burger King), there is a private bus company (Fuji Express) which runs "all the time" aka as soon as the bus is full -- I use this whenever I leave the city bc it usually is faster than the NJ Transit departure schedule. (The routes are the same between Fuji Express & Nj Transit Bus 165.) The cost is $3. And the stop is the same: Liberty Place on Blvd East in Weehawken.
Option C: Take the NY Waterway Ferry to Port Imperial ($9, one way). There are free shuttles from all around the city to the Ferry, and there are free shuttles from the ferry up to Blvd East. Also, you could walk from Port Imperial to Hudson place, which would be about 10-15minutes. (See Option D for more details on walking).
Option D: Take the Light Rail from Hoboken or Jersey City to Port Imperial, walk to the skywalk (shared with the Port Imperial NY Waterway Ferry) and up the stairs (8 or 9 flights) to Blvd East, walk south .4 miles to Hudson Place.
