"I keep my love in the trunk. And I drive slowly over speed bumps, so she doesn't bump her head around."
- Jarod Kintz, This Book Has No Title
When I first saw my car, I not only fell in love with it, I also thought Lord Byron's timeless poem "She Walks in Beauty" was written with my car in mind. She (Elantra GT) was the top-of-the-line model in 2004 - automatic with cruise control, leather seats, front driver and passenger airbags, ABS, powerful AC, fog lights, rear window wiper, power windows, internally adjusted left and right rear view mirrors, and MP3 CD player with remote. Her heart and mind (read interiors) are very clean, but please note there are a few cosmetic blemishes on the outside. Those normal scars from aging and experience, you know. Just like the lines on Clint Eastwood's face.
She runs smooth and is low maintenance - returns approx. 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. She's a hatchback styled to look like a sedan, think "supermodel with brains". For her curves and size, the luggage space is very generous. With the rear seats thrown down she can swallow large items - I've managed to fit a regular mountain bike or a 4 feet long desk inside her! What would I do without her?
BONUS! No need to drive around like a misguided missile; this car comes with a Garmin nuvi GPS with updated maps - no extra charge - to get you exactly where you want to be! I also leave an umbrella and jumper cables in the car at all times.
She has about 104K miles valuable experience and was covered by manufacturer warranty until 100K. So all electricals and mechanicals are in excellent working condition.
All four tires are top rated Michelin Primacy MXV4 for a quieter, more confident ride. Tires are about a year old, with 10K miles on them. The spare tire is same as fitted tires, not new though.
My car, just like me, has a traveler's heart and hates staying parked for long periods :)
I urge you to avoid using the mobile phone while driving.
Q1. Are the pictures of the car recent? Yes, they are. You get what you see. I will clean the car from inside for all rentals. I will wash the car from outside for rentals that are 2 days or longer. The exterior is always decently clean, in any case.
Q2. Where will I pick the car? Outside my home. Which is close to intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Varsity Drive, Raleigh 27606. If you have no means to reach my car, I can pick you up (for example, from the airport). The pick up or drop is subject to additional charge and my availability.
Q3. Do you rent for short and long durations? Lately, my preference has been short intra-day rentals only. My family joined me recently and that has made it difficult to agree to multi-day rental requests.
