ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE DIFFERENT, WITH UNIQUE FEATURES AND REQUIREMENTS. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY.
This 2013 Nissan Leaf is a 100% electric, zero-emissions vehicle, with a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge (75 miles if driving at freeway speeds). It is not a hybrid and cannot use gasoline.
When comparing costs of rental cars, remember this: you may never pay a cent for "fuel" while driving this car. Many free Quick Charging stations are popping up all around Los Angeles, which deliver an 80% recharge in 20 minutes. You can also plug in to any standard 120V outlet at your home, garage or hotel for an overnight "trickle" charge (a full charge costs $2 in electricity). So, compared to renting a gas-burning car, you could easily save $20/day or more to drive it - the more you drive, the more you save. Why pay $4/gallon for gasoline? Electricity costs only 20% as much per mile, and is often available free!
No need to "fill up" the LEAF before you return it - there are no refueling charges! Ignore RelayRides' standard verbiage that "You must replace the gas that you use." (Just DON'T drive 'til the battery is dead. You will need a tow truck!)
Experience the smooth, ultra-quiet ride of electric power, and instant 100% torque as the electric motor accelerates from a full stop. The vehicle comes equipped with Sirius XM radio, GPS navigation system, A/C, CD player, Bluetooth and USB connections to stream your personal music collection to its audio system.
The Leaf's CarWings telematics system displays and routes you to nearby recharging locations at the touch of a button. EV charging stations are abundant and well distributed all around the L.A. area.
Flexible Location! We can SOMETIMES arrange to pick you up at the airport (LAX, Burbank). Just send us a message to ask. Please Note: I can only provide airport pickups/drop-offs for rentals of three (3) days or longer.
The owner will consult with you to help you decide if the 2013 Nissan Leaf will serve your rental needs. He has been driving EV's more than three years in the Los Angeles area and is familiar with charging locations from Malibu to downtown, from the Valley to LAX, and many points between. Hollywood, Burbank, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Santa Monica all offer multiple EV charging locations, many of them absolutely free to use.
