• How far will a charge get me?

  Well, literally, YMMV- your mileage may vary, based on how you drive and more importantly, where and when. Tesla gives the range of this car as 295 miles on 100% charge, and generally that will be accurate if you're driving in a manner meant to conserve energy, at least somewhat. If you recharge no lower than 20% and stop at 80% as recommended, you should get around 200 miles total, which is as much as most Guests need on the first day for their trip. In fact, a typical trip to South Lake Tahoe with a few days of short trip to other areas usually results in less than 200 total miles driven. If you're driving more than that and don't have a destination charger handy where you're staying, use the Navigation to find which Superchargers on your route you should use.

• How full does the battery charge need to be when I drop off?

  Ideally, 85%. 80% is sometimes okay, and this is how much charge you can expect when you pick up, except by arrangement. Plan to use a fast charger before dropoff, or purchase a prepaid recharge extra to ensure we're all good. Communication is key- if I know I have plenty of time before the next Guest's trip to have it charged for them I'm more interested in keeping things convenient for you than in charging you fees.

• How do I know where to find chargers?

  The onboard navigation does a great job of showing you where to find superchargers and fast chargers of all kinds on your journey. You can also use apps like Chargepoint and Plugshare to find the nearest destination charger for where you're staying. Before dropoff, the most convenient supercharging stations are at the Atlantis in Reno, or in the parking garage on Sierra street just off the freeway.

• What if I unexpectedly can't recharge it before dropoff?

  This works just like dropping off without refilling a gas tank. I'll pick the car up, head straight to a Supercharger, top off at 85%, and you'll pay for the charging fees (plus a $10 convenience fee that Turo passes on to me) just like when you have post trip refueling in a gas powered vehicle. Good news is, even Supercharging costs less per mile driven than gas. Adding 65% charge in a single go on a Supercharger can be as little as $25.

• Can I take it to Burning Man?

  No, definitely not. The dust on the playa will never fully come out, and the cleaning fees will be a minimum of $1,000 to try. Please use alternate transport to get to Burn.
