Looking to rent a car for a bit? Looking for 1 month rentals or longer during Covid. The Mercury Mariner is located within easy reach of NYC, just steps away from the Old Greenwich train station on the Metro North line. The car is clean, reliable, and comfortable. About Me: Born and raised in Stamford, CT I know the area very well, and I'm happy to provide you with tips to help make your experience unique and fun. I'm extremely reliable, honest, and take great care of my Mercury. Features include a remote car starter, heated seats, Bluetooth connector, iPhone charger, back-up sensors, sunroof, leather seats, and power windows. Please treat my car the same way you would if it was your very own. I don't leave trash in it, I don't smoke in it, I keep it clean inside & out and I keep the gas tank full. Please don't text and drive. Thank you and enjoy your ride!

The car will be parked within a 1 block radius of the Old Greenwich train station, along the Metro North line, and must be returned in town along Sound Beach Ave, or Arcadia Road. There's plenty of street parking during the day/night and there are no street parking meters. Do not leave the car at the train station parking lot, as a permit is needed.

Rules: -Absolutely NO SMOKING -MUST return gas tank full -MUST report all tickets, tolls, or other fines and fees upon returning vehicle -NO air fresheners, sprays, or other scents -PETS are welcome, as long as you return the car clean of fur and dander -No drinking and driving -Do not leave power on without the car running (i.e.: music, lights, emergency blinkers, etc) for extended period of time, as it will kill battery. -Turo Rules: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203990780-Fees-Fines -Please return the car clean, or leave $15 for owner to get the exterior washed. $75 fee when car is returned back in very poor condition both inside and out.

  • Does the car take Regular gas?

    Yes!

  • Is the car good in the snow?

    Yes, but always go slow in the snow as it can be slippery, and be cautious of black ice.

  • Can I use your EZ Pass?

    Yes, EZ Pass is available if needed, and all charges used on it are to be paid in Cash or Venmo after the trip. Some guests bring their own EZ Pass so they can avoid this process.

  • If I am arriving by train in Old Greenwich, where do we meet?

    I will meet you at the train station, and you'll see the car as you exit the tracks. Please let me know if you'll be coming northbound/southbound.

  • There are 4 stops in Greenwich - which one do I get off at?

    Please get off in Old Greenwich. This is typically a local train from Grand Central station, but during peak hours there are semi-express trains. This is the New Haven/Stamford Metro North line. Train schedules and fares can be found here: http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

  • Is it my responsibility to get the car washed after the trip is over?

    If the car was clean when you got it, and is now full of bugs on the front of the car, or windshield, sand in the carpets, or the exterior is dirty from road conditions, please either wash it prior to return, or if it's a late night return, please leave an extra $10 so the owner can take it to the car wash. If the car is very dirty, a $40 fee will be added on so it can be properly treated.

Joia was great to work with and the car was enjoyable to drive. It was freshly washed and vacuumed when I picked it up and I did the same before returning. The car has some Zip too! Thank you, would gladly connect again!

Joia was extremely helpful with the pickup and return. She did a thorough walk thru of the car. The car was parked and waiting for us exactly where she said. Super easy from NYC. She provided great directions and communicated timely.

As a first time user, I had quite an unpleasant experience. From being questioned specifically about what I was doing and where I was taking the car by Joia to the customer service rep post rental, I had less than an ideal experience. Do take pictures of every inch of the car both before and after even if your host tells you most folks do not. This will save you from headaches in the end. Also, if a host tells you to leave the car in a lot at the end of the rental, find another host. It’s best to turn it in to an actual person who can do a walk around with you. A car left in a shopping center for 8+ hours after you drop it off may sustain damages or worse yet, end up missing. Be aware that this car has areas of damage and rust. The under carriage is also loose and makes it not so smooth driving. This review reflects my overall experience with Turo and with Joia.
