As Jeep owners, we were really excited to rent this Trailhawk for our Texas trip. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best experience with the Jeep or with communicating with Arman. His messages seemed copied & pasted and he wouldn't respond to messages we sent him. The Jeep ran fine and got the job done, but it’s not in the greatest shape for being only three years old and simple upkeep seems to be ignored. This became apparent as soon as we saw it. The exterior and the interior had not been cleaned prior to our rental, which was a bit upsetting. The rubber on the driver-side wiper blade was torn off, which made our two-hour drive to Kerrville a bit unsafe since it was raining—I message Arman about this issue, but never received a response. The passenger-side mirror is broken and is held up by an elastic band. We kept getting a ‘Oil Change Required’ warning every time we started the Jeep because it’s 1,000 miles overdue. The touch screen is very finicky (eg, I would try to change the radio and the heat would turn on). The Apple CarPlay/Android Auto would randomly stop working, which was a selling point for us because we wanted to easily use navigation on our trip. All-in-all, the Jeep didn't break down and did what we needed it to do. We were just expecting a better experience with HandiFleet since we were renting from a business and not someone’s personal vehicle.

The car was generally great and Arman very helpful, but the vehicle seemed overdue for some maintenance, so despite an otherwise very smooth and easy process, I can’t give a 5 star review. The “oil change” indicator message was on when I first started the car and the treads on the tires seemed quite low. The whole touch screen/electronic system also seemed to have issues. CarPlay would randomly stop working, USB randomly stop charging, and on one occasion, the temperature and radio station were changing on their own as if an invisible hand was haphazardly tapping all over the screen. We also had an issue where vertical lines and color distortions would appear on the screen for several minutes at a time, obscuring any text or map on the screen, and also rendering the backup camera unreliable. Overall, the rental process was wonderful and I’d recommend HandiFleet, but the particular Compass we rented could use some TLC before being rented again.
