It received a professional restoration that included repainting the entire car, refinishing the chrome, restoring the interior and rebuilding the engine, transmission, suspension and brakes, as a result, the car looks, drives and feels amazing. The Mercedes 280 SL "pagoda" is an automotive icon with timeless, graceful styling, spirited performance and handling, and build quality and reliability second to none. The car has plush, supportive seats and a high quality of craftsmanship throughout, including the soft top, which disappears easily and unobtrusively when not in use. The smooth running 170-hp inline-6 engine and four speed automatic transmission deliver ample power and acceleration to navigate modern traffic conditions with ease. The large, power-assisted steering wheel makes the steering fingertip light and the servo-assisted four-wheel disc brakes bring the car promptly to a stop.
