The Mark V marked the apex of Lincoln luxury and engineering. 1979 was the last year of the full-size chassis—literally, an end of an era. This one is all-original with very low, original miles. This smooth-cruising, bronze time machine has many unique design touches, including concealed headlights, turn signals incorporated into the leading edge of the front fenders, an upright chrome grille, the trademark hump across the edge of the trunklid, oval "opera” windows, a vinyl roof, and comfy shag carpeting. This big car offers big luxury, from the soft suspension to the luxurious interior with ice-cold A/C. The car starts right up, moves well, shifts well, stops easily, and is comfortable and easy to drive. This car has no serious flaws and the car is fully serviced, sorted and reliable. While this car is definitely a classic, there's no reason you need a special occasion to rent it--isn't this a way-cooler alternative than that other coupe or luxury sedan you're looking at? While this car is well-maintained and in excellent condition, it is still over 40 years old. I ask that you drive this car reasonably and do not abuse it. Also, as an older (and very big) car, it operates and drives a bit differently, and also consumes A LOT of fuel when in traffic. Please understand that it will not be flawless like a new car or a museum piece, and there is a greater chance of something going wrong. The passenger seat cushion has a tear; the vinyl roof has small cracks; and the passenger power seat doesn't work. It may take you a couple tries to start the car when cold. However, the paint is beautiful and mechanically the car is solid and reliable throughout. I just want to properly set your expectation before you book.
