The process of reserving the car was fine, and mechanically the car was fine. However, when we picked up the car in Long Term Parking, it smelled of smoke. That evening, I advised the host that the car smelled and it wasn't from us. He said he was aware and had tried to eliminate the smell. Since the host knew of the smell why didn't he advise us in advance and either provide another vehicle, if available, or allow us to cancel the reservation? Yes, we could have refused the car, but we were in the middle of a parking lot away from the terminal and we wanted to keep a schedule. Yes, it was our choice, but the host should have advised us because Turo policy is no smoking. It seems that keeping his rental was more important than honesty with the customer. I don't think this is responsible of an "All Star Host".
Sorry to hear about your experience with the smell of smoke in the vehicle. Unfortunately, not all guests follow the Turo rules. We treated the vehicle with 3 treatments of the Turo recommended Smart Tumbler purification system prior to your pickup. Your one star rating doesn't seem very fair if only one aspect of your experience was undesirable. Especially since you didn't ask for a replacement vehicle. We would have been happy to comply with any requests. Safe travels
