I enjoy driving it locally. If all of my Tesla's are pre-booked the Leaf is a great alternative; Just as good as a Standard Range Model 3. If you want to charge during your trip and are in the area feel free to use the fast charger during normal business hours. With Austin Airport pickup/delivery option you will not have to take a shuttle or a long walk to locate the car. Exit baggage claim, cross the street and you'll find the vehicle in the Red Garage. Or in the Blue Garage which is next door to the Rental Car Facility and RideShare pickup area. For most of my guests we are able to find a close spot in the garages. Especially if we're dropping the vehicle off the night before. No waiting in lines or for shuttles; easy and simple. The car has a range of 215+ miles and fast charging capabilities make it one of the best EV’s in its class., I normally drive a Tesla but totally love the Leaf as well. Drives great in the city and on the highway. During my driving of this Leaf I kept it in Econo Mode but tried out regular mode in the city and highway where it drove excellent and the acceleration is was than sufficient. If you've never driven an Electric Car I highly suggest that you try one out and you'll be in for a big surprise. And will save a bit of $$$$ without having to deal with going to a gas station to fill up. Contactless Delivery. Vehicle will be unlocked remotely when you arrive to the vehicle. Car will be ready to go at your scheduled reservation time. Washed, vacuumed and sanitized. As well as the battery level being at least 80% or more. Charging the vehicle is pretty simple. There are electric chargers all around Austin and surrounding areas. Check out ChargeHub online to see for yourself. Many Walmart and Sam's Club stores have them onsite as well close to major expressways in the area. In Austin, There's also Chargepoint, EVGo, Electrify America chargers all around Austin.. As well as the hotels and outlet malls in the area. If you want to charge at a friends place there's a cord so you can do that as well. Rates vary from network to network.. The DC Fast Charger's usually cost around 21cents/minute and will charge the car in around 45 minutes at most fast chargers with the battery at 20% Roughly one third of what it will cost to gas up a similar size car. Many Nissan dealers also have a DC Fast charger’s that are no cost to you. The vehicle battery will have ample charge when you pickup. If you're driving to San Antonio you'll have plenty of battery level left before you have to recharge and drive back to Austin. For, Houston or Dallas you'll get a great start on your journey but will need to make it to at least 1 charging station to complete your drive. You can charge the vehicle wherever there are charging stations and there are several online directories. Locally Austin has chargers practically everywhere....just a matter of locating them online. Please return with at least 80% remaining battery level upon your return unless you pre-pay for recharging then as long as the vehicle has 10% or more you won't be charged an extra fee. The car is emission free and With a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds the LEAF is sporty and fun to drive. Perfect for those curious about electric vehicles or anyone looking for a safe, clean, and reliable rental. Vehicle has all power features, Navigation, Heated Seats, USB ports. Also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. See bottom of listing for all features/options in this Leaf. Airport Pickup/Delivery is easy and simple. Car will be at the airport at your reserved time. You will be provided simple instructions on where to find the vehicle either in the Red Garage directly across from baggage claim or Blue Garage is the garage behind Red Garage. If you prefer the Economy Lot we can drop the vehicle off there too but you'll likely have to take a shuttle to get there as it's a pretty far walk and not covered like the garages. Keep in mind you can pickup in North Austin as well but the Ride Share cost will likely exceed the delivery costs; especially when surge pricing is in effect when multiple flights arrive especially in the early morning, late afternoon and night flights. Local pickup/dropoff in North Austin is available at no charge; as well as easy and simple. And contactless!!
