Parking on the streets of Montreal can be difficult to understand. Look out for fire hydrates, pay meters (some are display ticket and some are pay n go; there is a Parking app in Montreal that you can use by searching "stationnement montreal" on the app store). Also please read the road signs carefully as to when can you park; some streets require a special number - vignette - in order to park even though the timing allows it. Be careful of rush hours and bus lanes when parking as well. There are some public and private lots available in the downtown core so check with each of them the times you have to pay or not.
