How does the Autopilot feature work, and what are the limitations?
The Autopilot feature on a Tesla is a suite of advanced driver assistance systems that are designed to help the driver with various aspects of driving. It uses a combination of cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and GPS to detect and respond to the environment around the car. The Autopilot feature has several components, including: Adaptive Cruise Control: This feature uses radar and cameras to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of the Tesla while cruising on the highway. Autosteer: This feature uses cameras and sensors to keep the Tesla in the center of the lane while driving on the highway. The driver is still responsible for paying attention to the road and being ready to take control of the vehicle at any time. Navigate on Autopilot: This feature uses GPS and real-time traffic data to suggest the most efficient route to the driver's destination and take over driving tasks, such as merging onto highways and taking exits. Autopark: This feature uses sensors and cameras to help the driver parallel park and perpendicular park the car. While the Autopilot feature can make driving more convenient and efficient, it's important to note that the system is not fully autonomous and still requires the driver to be alert and ready to take control of the vehicle at any time. The driver should always keep their hands on the wheel and pay attention to the road ahead, even when using the Autopilot feature. Furthermore, the Autopilot feature has certain limitations, and it may not work in all driving situations. For example, the system may not be able to detect certain objects or obstacles, such as stationary objects or animals, and it may not be able to function properly in inclement weather conditions, such as heavy rain or snow. It's important for drivers to understand the capabilities and limitations of the Autopilot feature and use it responsibly.
Can I add additional drivers to the rental agreement?
Yes, you can add additional drivers to your Tesla Model 3 rental agreement on Turo. To do so, follow these steps: 1) Get approval from the car owner: Reach out to the car owner via Turo's messaging platform to request permission to add an additional driver. Be prepared to provide the additional driver's full name, contact information, and any other required details. 2) Create a Turo account for the additional driver: If the additional driver does not already have a Turo account, they need to create one. They must sign up with their full name, email address, phone number, and provide a clear photo of their driver's license. The additional driver's account must be approved by Turo before they can be added to the rental agreement. 3) Submit a request to Turo support: Once the car owner has granted permission and the additional driver's Turo account is approved, contact Turo's customer support to officially add the additional driver to the rental agreement. You can do this by visiting the "Help Center" on the Turo website or app and submitting a support request. Please note that all additional drivers must meet Turo's eligibility requirements, which include being at least 21 years old (or 25 years old for certain high-performance vehicles), possessing a valid driver's license, and having a clean driving record. Additional drivers are subject to the same insurance and liability coverage as the primary renter, and they are also responsible for adhering to the rental agreement's terms and conditions.
Are there any additional fees for using Tesla Superchargers?
Yes, there may be additional fees for using Tesla Superchargers, depending on the location and the specific pricing structure in place. While Tesla Superchargers are free to use for some older Tesla models that were purchased with unlimited Supercharging, most new Tesla vehicles are sold with a pay-per-use Supercharging plan or an optional Supercharging subscription. The pay-per-use Supercharging plan charges customers based on the amount of electricity used, and the cost varies depending on the location and time of day. The pricing is typically displayed on the Supercharger screen and is subject to change. The Supercharging subscription is a monthly subscription service that allows Tesla owners to access unlimited Supercharging at participating locations. The cost of the subscription varies depending on the country and region, and there may be additional fees for excessive usage or non-participating locations. It's important to note that Tesla Superchargers are intended for long-distance travel and are not meant to be used as the primary charging method for a Tesla. Tesla owners are encouraged to charge their vehicles at home or at other public charging locations whenever possible to avoid excessive Supercharging fees and to help manage the demand on the Supercharger network.
Is insurance included in the rental price, or do I need to purchase additional coverage?
The insurance coverage for a Turo rental car depends on the protection package selected by the renter and the requirements of the host. Turo offers several protection packages for renters to choose from, including Basic, Standard, and Premium. The Basic package provides liability coverage for the renter, up to the minimum financial responsibility limit required by the state where the car is rented. However, it does not provide any coverage for damage to the rental car itself. The Standard package includes liability coverage as well as coverage for physical damage to the rental car, subject to a deductible. The renter may be responsible for paying the deductible in the event of damage to the car. The Premium package provides the same coverage as the Standard package, but with a lower deductible and additional features such as trip interruption and 24/7 roadside assistance. It's important to note that the host may require the renter to purchase a specific protection package or provide additional insurance coverage for the rental. The renter should review the host's requirements and the terms of the protection package carefully before booking the rental. Additionally, renters should check with their personal auto insurance provider to see if their policy covers rental cars and what limitations or exclusions may apply. They may also consider purchasing a separate rental car insurance policy to supplement the coverage provided by Turo or their personal auto insurance.
What are the cleaning and charging requirements when returning the car?
Please keep it clean as best as you can and try to return the car no less than 50% charge.
Are pets allowed in the vehicle?
No pets allowed please.
What is the range of the Tesla Model 3, and how far can I drive on a full charge?
The Standard Range Plus Model 3 has an estimated range of 263 miles (423 kilometers) on a single charge, according to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rating. It's important to note that actual range may vary depending on factors such as driving style, weather conditions, terrain, and other variables. Additionally, the range of the battery may decrease over time as the battery ages and undergoes normal wear and tear.
How do I charge the Tesla Model 3, and where can I find charging stations?
Charging a Tesla Model 3 is a simple and convenient process. You have several charging options, which include using Tesla Superchargers, public charging stations, or charging at home or a destination with a Level 2 charger or a standard wall outlet. Here's how to charge the Tesla Model 3: 1) Tesla Superchargers: These are high-speed charging stations designed specifically for Tesla vehicles. Superchargers can provide up to 170 miles of range in about 30 minutes. To find a nearby Supercharger, use the built-in navigation system on the car's touchscreen or the Tesla mobile app. Charging at a Supercharger station is usually not free, but some Turo rentals may include free Supercharging credits. 2) Public Charging Stations: You can also use public charging stations provided by various networks such as ChargePoint, EVgo, or Electrify America. These stations may use different types of connectors, but the Tesla Model 3 comes with an adapter that allows you to charge at most public stations. To find public charging stations, use apps like PlugShare or ChargePoint, or check the car's built-in navigation system. 3) Home or Destination Charging: You can charge the Model 3 at home or at your destination using a Level 2 charger (240-volt outlet) or a standard 120-volt wall outlet. The charging speed will be slower compared to Superchargers or public fast chargers, but it can be a convenient option when you have access to a charger overnight or during your stay. The Tesla Model 3 comes with a Mobile Connector, which includes adapters for both types of outlets. To charge the vehicle, follow these steps: 1) Park the car near the charging station or outlet, making sure the charging port is close to the charger. 2) Press the button on the charging cable or connector to open the charging port on the car. 3) Plug the charging cable into the car's charging port. The port will turn blue, indicating that the car is preparing to charge, and then green when charging begins. 4) Monitor the charging progress on the car's touchscreen or the Tesla mobile app. 5)Once you've reached the desired charge level, press the button on the charging cable again to release it from the port, and then close the charging port. Remember to plan your charging stops during long trips, taking into account the available charging options, the vehicle's range, and the charging speed at different types of stations.

Car is good except car battery we have to frequently charge.
As advertised and put out on notice, EV cars in general regardless of which make it is, during winter time has less range due to colder temperatures which the battery has less capacity. Also, high usage of the heater drains the battery more and the higher ambient temperature is set, the more battery it consumes.
