Everything went okay up until the end of the trip when he tried to get me to cover fictitious tow costs. Car owner was not home and accused me of dropping his car off at the wrong home (4 houses down the street from his). It seemed fishy because I was sure that I brought it to the proper address, but I was willing to work with him to find the car. He had a great rating and I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and consider that I possibly made a mistake. He then called me and told me that it was at his neighbors house and that his neighbor had already gotten a tow truck (within half an hour of me dropping it off). What made me really upset and suspicious, was that he accused me of smoking in his car because the tow man told him that the car smelled like smoke. 1, I AM NOT A SMOKER. 2, Why in the world would the a tow man tell someone that their car smells like smoke? I was willing to consider the unlikely possibility of me dropping the car off at his neighbors house but distrusted him when he yelled at me because a tow guy, for no apparent reason, told him that his car smelled like smoke. I feel like this a situation a racial profiling. I have a picture of the the license plate of the other car in the driveway and am willing to cover any cost associated with me parking in the wrong drive way if that license plate does belong to his neighbor. Otherwise i will treat this like a scam attempt and racial profiling.
