You will not be turned away from the ski resorts as this car's tires qualify to be driven up and down the snowy canyons of Utah. Parking details

If you have chosen our home location or the free, Salt Lake City International Airport, you would take an off airport shuttle or your own transportation to a parking lot operated 24/7 and is only about 2-3 minutes away from the Airport where you will be taken directly to the car. This is the default process when you choose the Salt Lake City International airport. To have the car delivered directly to the Airport Parking Garage you would pay a $100 delivery fee plus the Airport Garage Parking Exit Fee, typically less than $35.00. To change the Direct Delivery location, you would go to the Details page and under Modify Trip you would choose Direct Delivery, then type in SLC Airport as your delivery location and it will show Salt Lake City Airport 776 North Terminal Drive Salt Lake City, Utah, as your pick up location. Choose this option and your car will be in the Airport Parking Garage. Guidelines

Absolutely No Smoking, Vaping or Pets in the vehicle. Make sure you put Premium Gasoline in this Vehicle. We have provided in the glove box cleaning locations for those who haven't prepaid for gas and cleaning. Please we ask you not to Smoke in the car! It really kills any resale value it may have.

  • I accidently got a Crack in the Windshield. What should I do?

    A couple options are, you can take it to a local windshield glass shop and return the car as you received it or we can have shops we work with fix it after the trip. However, you will pay a small convenience fee and up to the cost of the windshield.

  • What happens if the Tires look like they Need to be Replaced and I am Concerned?

    We want you to feel safe in our cars. We equip all our cars with all season tires. We believe these are the most cost efficient and effective tires on the market especially with the snowy days in Utah. We want you to feel comfortable with the tires on your car. If for any reason, you feel they need to be replaced, we will replace them. We have contracts with several tire locations up and down the Wasatch Front.

  • Are the Miles for a trip Flexible?

    Yes, you can choose it as an extra for a small fee.

  • Do I need to Return the Car Washed and Cleaned?

    Yes, it is customary when renting cars out from a car sharing platform, that you return them washed and cleaned and prepared for the next renter.

  • What happens if the Car Breaks Down and I need a New Vehicle?

    With being one of the largest hosts in Utah, we can assist you with this better than most. I will look through my personal inventory and typically replace your car with a nicer and newer car than the one you rented.

  • What are the Hotel Pick Up and Delivery Options?

    The keys will be delivered in an envelope to the hotel's front desk or to the bell desk, with pick up and drop off instructions.

  • The Car has a Check Engine Light or Tire Pressure Monitor Light on, what happens?

    Before each rentall we do all we can to make sure the check engine lights are off and the tire pressure monitors are working and we check them before and after each trip. However, if something does go wrong, we will contact our mechanic and communicate with him what is happening and he will give us direct feedback. 97% of the time the check engine lights are not a problem, and with the different temperatures in Utah the Tire Pressures Maintenance Lights often go on and off with the change of temperature.

  • If I lock the Keys in the Car or lose the Keys what Happens?

    Most cars need to be towed to the dealership to have computerized machines reprogram the keys to the make and model of car. So it typically costs a towing fee, a replacement fob, and then a key reprogramming fee. This can be as high as $750 in expenses. Please do not lose or lock keys in the car.

  • What happens if there are Small Dings, Scratches and Rim Rash?

    We ask for you to be responsible and do your best to avoid these little tiny issues. We understand things are going to happen, but they do hurt the resale value of our cars. We ask you to let us know about the little things that happen to a car and if it is large enough and a big enough issue, we will ask for compensation.

  • What happens if I am Late Picking up the Car or Dropping it off?

    You will need to change your trip details date and time in the app. This will make the times and dates match and verify if the car is available. When picking it up, it will typically be the same instructions you received to pick up the car. If you are going to be late, you could be interfering with the next potential renter. By-law in many states, we have to report the car as missing after 1 hour so we can make sure we are covered, so please make sure you are on time or have changed your trip details.

  • What happens if I put the Wrong Type of Fuel in a Vehicle?

    Most of our cars use Premium Fuel only, if proper fuel is not used you will gum up the catalytic converter which in some of my cars is $2500 to repair. It is very costly if the wrong gas is used and would be at your expense. We will do our best to work it out with your insurance company, but it isn’t often covered.

  • Can I have a Delivery to a Personal Location?

    The car can be delivered directly to your address with advance notice.

  • What Should I know about Insurance and how it Works?

    You should check with your own personal insurance company and make sure you are covered when renting a car from a car sharing company insurance program. We have learned that often there are different rules for car sharing companies with your credit card insurance and with your own personal insurance as we are not a car rental company. You need to make sure you are covered. If there is a problem, we will be contacting your insurance company and working directly with them.

  • What happens if I get into a Wreck?

    We ask you to text us on the app immediately and we will assist in the proper steps to take. We will make sure we qualify for coverage with your personal insurance company. You will want to call the local police station and get an accident report number. Also, you will need to get a copy of the other party's drivers license and insurance information. After messaging us on the app, you can text me directly at [Number redacted for privacy and security] or one of my co-host numbers will be inside the glove box.

It’s a great way to rent a car. No more corporate rental companies. Turo is personable and Jay is fantastic in his customer service. Messages were answered right away, made a difference. Mercedes was changed out last minute for the Range Rover sport but it was a great experience! Car clean, easy to pick up and drop off. I will definitely rent from Jay’s next time I’m in town.

To start, y’all should know that I shared the following feedback with Jay, but 4 days later he has not responded, so I guess I’ll go public and tell you about the car and my experience renting from Jay.
A couple of hours before my scheduled pickup, Jay messaged me to tell me my car was ready for me. It must have been som kind of automated message, because when I arrived at the lot, the car had not been washed, and there was some trash debris in the car. It was dark and I didn’t want to wait for someone to clean it, so I took it as is.
I thought renting a 2017 Mercedes GLS450 meant that I was getting a nice car. It wasn’t. It was in rough shape.
1) I tried locking the car using the key fob but the car wouldn’t lock. About 1/2 way through the trip, I realized that the back panel is missing from the key fob. The back of the key fob is covered in black electrical tape, but it doesn’t hold the battery in place correctly, so the key fob won’t work. I discovered that if I pushed through the electrical tape just right, I could use the fob to lock and unlock the car. Also, the push button start feature on this car doesn’t work.
2) one or both of the rear air springs has a leak that makes the rear of the car sag down against the bump stops after it has been parked for a few hours. I recognize this problem because I have a Mercedes GL550 and I’ve replaced leaking air springs before.
3) there is a rumbling noise in the rear of the car that changes with the speed of the car - I’m guessing the noise is due to a bad tire, or more likely, a bad wheel bearing
4) the tires are worn past the wear bars. I’m glad there wasn’t any rain during my trip. Driving this car at speed through standing water could be hazardous due to the risk of hydroplaning on the nearly bald tires.
5) the car over all is in rough shape - missing or loose trim pieces, large paint chips, cracked windshield, etc.
6) the car wasn’t prepped for delivery when I arrived at the park and jet lot. I took it as is with a bit of trash and debris in it. The inside of the windshield wasn’t clean - oncoming headlights at night were blurry due to the film on the windshield.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. Usually when I rent a car through Turo, I get a fun and interesting car and personal service. But in this case, I would have been better off renting a basic car from one of the rental companies. The service wasn’t personal and the car was in pretty rough shape.
It appears that Jay runs fairly large rental operation in the Salt Lake City area called Golden Luxury Auto. According to the website, he has 163 cars in his rental fleet. Obviously he’s not running a business of this magnitude by himself and I don’t imagine that he’s personally involved in every Turo rental. That’s probably why he hasn’t responded to my message that I sent through the Turo app telling him about my experience and the issues with this car.

The car was not cleaned prior to arrival. Service request was needed on the car when I picked it up. The key fob is broken. Glass has a crack in it. Outside has a bunch of dings on it. The hitch in the back makes it impossible to drive on slanted areas. It felt worse then a roller coaster when you drive. I bounced and actually hit my head, seems like the suspension is messed up.

Worst Turo experience I have had. Then I was told I would get a day free due to not getting my car on time. I was dropped outside and left in the cold and told to sit in a sketchy break room with no lights until someone came.

If you have chosen our home location or the free, Salt Lake City International Airport, you would take an off airport shuttle or your own transportation to a parking lot operated 24/7 and is only about 2-3 minutes away from the Airport where you will be taken directly to the car. This is the default process when you choose the Salt Lake City International airport. To have the car delivered directly to the Airport Parking Garage you would pay a $100 delivery fee plus the Airport Garage Parking Exit Fee, typically less than $35.00. To change the Direct Delivery location, you would go to the Details page and under Modify Trip you would choose Direct Delivery, then type in SLC Airport as your delivery location and it will show Salt Lake City Airport 776 North Terminal Drive Salt Lake City, Utah, as your pick up location. Choose this option and your car will be in the Airport Parking Garage. Absolutely No Smoking, Vaping or Pets in the vehicle. Make sure you put Premium Gasoline in this Vehicle. We have provided in the glove box cleaning locations for those who haven't prepaid for gas and cleaning. Please we ask you not to Smoke in the car! It really kills any resale value it may have.

  • I accidently got a Crack in the Windshield. What should I do?

    A couple options are, you can take it to a local windshield glass shop and return the car as you received it or we can have shops we work with fix it after the trip. However, you will pay a small convenience fee and up to the cost of the windshield.

  • What happens if the Tires look like they Need to be Replaced and I am Concerned?

    We want you to feel safe in our cars. We equip all our cars with all season tires. We believe these are the most cost efficient and effective tires on the market especially with the snowy days in Utah. We want you to feel comfortable with the tires on your car. If for any reason, you feel they need to be replaced, we will replace them. We have contracts with several tire locations up and down the Wasatch Front.

  • Are the Miles for a trip Flexible?

    Yes, you can choose it as an extra for a small fee.

  • Do I need to Return the Car Washed and Cleaned?

    Yes, it is customary when renting cars out from a car sharing platform, that you return them washed and cleaned and prepared for the next renter.

  • What happens if the Car Breaks Down and I need a New Vehicle?

    With being one of the largest hosts in Utah, we can assist you with this better than most. I will look through my personal inventory and typically replace your car with a nicer and newer car than the one you rented.

  • What are the Hotel Pick Up and Delivery Options?

    The keys will be delivered in an envelope to the hotel's front desk or to the bell desk, with pick up and drop off instructions.

  • The Car has a Check Engine Light or Tire Pressure Monitor Light on, what happens?

    Before each rentall we do all we can to make sure the check engine lights are off and the tire pressure monitors are working and we check them before and after each trip. However, if something does go wrong, we will contact our mechanic and communicate with him what is happening and he will give us direct feedback. 97% of the time the check engine lights are not a problem, and with the different temperatures in Utah the Tire Pressures Maintenance Lights often go on and off with the change of temperature.

  • If I lock the Keys in the Car or lose the Keys what Happens?

    Most cars need to be towed to the dealership to have computerized machines reprogram the keys to the make and model of car. So it typically costs a towing fee, a replacement fob, and then a key reprogramming fee. This can be as high as $750 in expenses. Please do not lose or lock keys in the car.

  • What happens if there are Small Dings, Scratches and Rim Rash?

    We ask for you to be responsible and do your best to avoid these little tiny issues. We understand things are going to happen, but they do hurt the resale value of our cars. We ask you to let us know about the little things that happen to a car and if it is large enough and a big enough issue, we will ask for compensation.

  • What happens if I am Late Picking up the Car or Dropping it off?

    You will need to change your trip details date and time in the app. This will make the times and dates match and verify if the car is available. When picking it up, it will typically be the same instructions you received to pick up the car. If you are going to be late, you could be interfering with the next potential renter. By-law in many states, we have to report the car as missing after 1 hour so we can make sure we are covered, so please make sure you are on time or have changed your trip details.

  • What happens if I put the Wrong Type of Fuel in a Vehicle?

    Most of our cars use Premium Fuel only, if proper fuel is not used you will gum up the catalytic converter which in some of my cars is $2500 to repair. It is very costly if the wrong gas is used and would be at your expense. We will do our best to work it out with your insurance company, but it isn’t often covered.

  • Can I have a Delivery to a Personal Location?

    The car can be delivered directly to your address with advance notice.

  • What Should I know about Insurance and how it Works?

    You should check with your own personal insurance company and make sure you are covered when renting a car from a car sharing company insurance program. We have learned that often there are different rules for car sharing companies with your credit card insurance and with your own personal insurance as we are not a car rental company. You need to make sure you are covered. If there is a problem, we will be contacting your insurance company and working directly with them.

  • What happens if I get into a Wreck?

    We ask you to text us on the app immediately and we will assist in the proper steps to take. We will make sure we qualify for coverage with your personal insurance company. You will want to call the local police station and get an accident report number. Also, you will need to get a copy of the other party's drivers license and insurance information. After messaging us on the app, you can text me directly at [Number redacted for privacy and security] or one of my co-host numbers will be inside the glove box.

It’s a great way to rent a car. No more corporate rental companies. Turo is personable and Jay is fantastic in his customer service. Messages were answered right away, made a difference. Mercedes was changed out last minute for the Range Rover sport but it was a great experience! Car clean, easy to pick up and drop off. I will definitely rent from Jay’s next time I’m in town.

To start, y’all should know that I shared the following feedback with Jay, but 4 days later he has not responded, so I guess I’ll go public and tell you about the car and my experience renting from Jay.
A couple of hours before my scheduled pickup, Jay messaged me to tell me my car was ready for me. It must have been som kind of automated message, because when I arrived at the lot, the car had not been washed, and there was some trash debris in the car. It was dark and I didn’t want to wait for someone to clean it, so I took it as is.
I thought renting a 2017 Mercedes GLS450 meant that I was getting a nice car. It wasn’t. It was in rough shape.
1) I tried locking the car using the key fob but the car wouldn’t lock. About 1/2 way through the trip, I realized that the back panel is missing from the key fob. The back of the key fob is covered in black electrical tape, but it doesn’t hold the battery in place correctly, so the key fob won’t work. I discovered that if I pushed through the electrical tape just right, I could use the fob to lock and unlock the car. Also, the push button start feature on this car doesn’t work.
2) one or both of the rear air springs has a leak that makes the rear of the car sag down against the bump stops after it has been parked for a few hours. I recognize this problem because I have a Mercedes GL550 and I’ve replaced leaking air springs before.
3) there is a rumbling noise in the rear of the car that changes with the speed of the car - I’m guessing the noise is due to a bad tire, or more likely, a bad wheel bearing
4) the tires are worn past the wear bars. I’m glad there wasn’t any rain during my trip. Driving this car at speed through standing water could be hazardous due to the risk of hydroplaning on the nearly bald tires.
5) the car over all is in rough shape - missing or loose trim pieces, large paint chips, cracked windshield, etc.
6) the car wasn’t prepped for delivery when I arrived at the park and jet lot. I took it as is with a bit of trash and debris in it. The inside of the windshield wasn’t clean - oncoming headlights at night were blurry due to the film on the windshield.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. Usually when I rent a car through Turo, I get a fun and interesting car and personal service. But in this case, I would have been better off renting a basic car from one of the rental companies. The service wasn’t personal and the car was in pretty rough shape.
It appears that Jay runs fairly large rental operation in the Salt Lake City area called Golden Luxury Auto. According to the website, he has 163 cars in his rental fleet. Obviously he’s not running a business of this magnitude by himself and I don’t imagine that he’s personally involved in every Turo rental. That’s probably why he hasn’t responded to my message that I sent through the Turo app telling him about my experience and the issues with this car.

The car was not cleaned prior to arrival. Service request was needed on the car when I picked it up. The key fob is broken. Glass has a crack in it. Outside has a bunch of dings on it. The hitch in the back makes it impossible to drive on slanted areas. It felt worse then a roller coaster when you drive. I bounced and actually hit my head, seems like the suspension is messed up.

Worst Turo experience I have had. Then I was told I would get a day free due to not getting my car on time. I was dropped outside and left in the cold and told to sit in a sketchy break room with no lights until someone came.
