Description

Tesla expert here! Whether its your first time in a Tesla or you're an owner who doesn't want to drive anything else, we've got you covered. This 2021 Model Y (named Kirby) comes with a sparkling white interior and Autopilot with the Full Self-Driving package. If it's your first time driving a Tesla, we'll give you the run-down on the car works so you can hit the road running! Here are Kirby's main features: -326 mile range -Supercharging - add 200 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes when using V3 superchargers. Costs an average of ~$25 for a full charge. -Dual motor all-wheel drive -0-60 in 4.8 seconds -Midnight Silver Metallic paint -12-way power heated seats -Fold-flat rear seats with 8 feet of cargo space -Front trunk (aka 'frunk') for even more cargo storage -All-weather floor mats & trunk liner (standard carpet mats available by request for no charge) -Premium audio system with Immersive Sound -Navigation with satellite maps and live traffic -Bluetooth, Spotify, and internet radio -Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube built-in to watch while you charge -Hand sanitizer wipes included in the car :) Autopilot -Enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically for other vehicles and pedestrians within its lane. Full Self-Driving Capability -Navigate on Autopilot: automatic driving from highway on-ramp to off-ramp including interchanges and overtaking slower cars. -Auto Lane Change: automatic lane changes while driving on the highway. -Autopark: both parallel and perpendicular spaces. -Summon: your parked car will come find you anywhere in a parking lot. Really. -Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control: assisted stops at traffic controlled intersections. **PLEASE NOTE** - Autopilot and FSD are awesome and take a lot of stress out of driving but they do NOT make the car autonomous (yet). You MUST PAY FULL ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES when using any Autopilot feature. This car is an absolute joy to drive and I will make sure you're happy no matter what :)

Parking details

Car will be parked on the street near 4801 La Villa Marina. Please text me for the specific location when you pick up the car!

Guidelines

Please note - the car will be delivered to you clean and charged to at least 80% unless otherwise specified - I ask that you return it in the same condition and state of charge in which you received it. If the car is dirty and you'd prefer not to wash it, feel free to add the Prepaid EV Wash extra perk. Pets are welcome, but again, please return the car as clean as it was given to you. Also, if you take the car to a car wash, please try not to take it through an automatic car wash (the kind with the spinning brushes), or use any sort of cleaning brush on the paint surface. Teslas are known to have delicate paint and coarse brushes will cause scratches. Hand-wash and touch-free car washes are a-ok! If you're like me and would rather keep the car clean yourself, let me know ahead of time and I'll include cleaning supplies in the car for no additional charge :) **Absolutely no smoking of any kind in the car please!** If you smoke anything, even a little bit, you will be charged a very expensive cleaning fee and will make me very sad :(

Faqs

  • How do I Supercharge the car?

Tap the lightning bolt icon on the bottom-right section of the on-screen map; this will display the closest superchargers, along with their availability and charging speed (72-250kW). Tap on the one you'd like to use to navigate to that location. Once you've arrived, find an empty stall - you'll need to either back-in (most common) or pull in forward to the space - you'll want the charging post to be near the back-left corner of the car. When parked, simply grab the charging cable from its post, press the button on the connector to open the charge port, and firmly insert the cable. You should hear a locking 'click'. The "T" next to the charge port will flash blue for a few seconds, then when it starts charging, it will change to green. If it's any other color, such as red, check the in-car display for more information (it probably just means that that stall is out of order).

  • Can I leave the car plugged into a Supercharger after it's done charging?

No! Well, you can, but Tesla charges an idle fee of $1 per minute, plus it's generally considered bad practice if others are waiting to charge. Think of this like parking at a gas pump but not pumping gas. Don't be that person :) Please note, any idle fees accrued will be added on to your trip cost.

  • How do I charge the car from a power outlet?

This Model Y comes with 3 different charging adapters: -NEMA 5-15 - This is your normal 110v household outlet, and it charges the car VERY slowly - about 3-5 miles gained per hour of charge. If you leave this plugged in overnight, you'll gain about 40-50 miles. -NEMA 14-50 - This is the standard outlet which EVs plug in to and is your best option if it is available. Some AirBnB's have one in the garage and sometimes this is the type of plug the dryer is plugged into. This will give you 20-30 miles per hour of charge. Overnight, you should be full by morning. NEMA 6-30 - This plug is more rare but I've included the adapter in case that is your only option. This is faster than the 5-15 but slower than a 14-50. It should be used in conjunction with the 14-50 adapter.

  • How do I charge the car at a non-Tesla charging station?

You'll find a J1772 adapter in the center console - plug that into the charge cable FIRST (i.e. Chargepoint, Blink, EVgo, etc), then plug that into the charge port. Please remember to remove the adapter when finished! PRO TIP - if you need to find a charging station but you aren't near a Supercharger, download the PlugShare app and filter the results so that you can only see J1772 charging stations.

  • Do I need to bring the car back fully charged?

Turo's policy is to bring the car back with as much charge as you received it. In most cases, you'll receive the car with between 85-90% charge. Here are the rates that Turo will charge when you bring the car back (I have no control over these numbers, unfortunately): 81% and up - $0 51% - 80% - $10 21% - 50% - $20 Less than 20% - $50

  • How do I pay for Supercharging?

You do not need to pay at the stall when you plug in. You will receive a supplemental charge on Turo for all Supercharging when your trip is complete.
