Overall experience was alright, though I wanted to leave some notes for other Turo-ers and potentially some points that could be improved on the experience. No hard feelings or anything, my intent in leaving this comment is to make the Turo community a better place. 1. Michael was not responsive when I rented the car with him, I messaged him 10 messages on the app from the day before my trip till the beginning of my trip and he only replied once leaving me a short message about the pickup location only without providing me specific pickup instructions. This left me really frustrated as I was a second-time Turo user, so I had to call him instead of message him 5-10 minutes before my pick-up time, hoping that I could reach out to him on what I should do specifically. And no surprise, my call was directed to the voice mail leaving me even more frustrated on the spot. Good thing was that Michael left another phone number in the voice mail for all Turo requests, so I was able to eventually pick up the car successfully after calling that phone number reaching out to Michael's friend aka his Turo point of contact. Only till then, I was notified that Michael was off to his honeymoon trip that was why he was not responding at all. After knowing that, I understood Michael's situation and was not as upset anymore with this frustrating pick-up experience. Thankfully, Michael was able to be more responsive and got back to me in time when I was returning the car. If similar situations ever come up again, I highly suggest Michael have some message templates ready for copy and paste to the customers (I have seen many Turo hosts doing it this way), explaining your situation, step by step pick up instructions, and other Turo points of contact if you are not reachable, so that wouldn't leave the renters hanging again. I believe this will provide better experiences for your renters in the long run! 2. As for the car situation when I rented with Michael, I would give the overall cleanliness an 8/10. The front row and the second-row seats were all clean, but there were some sand and pet hair remained in the trunk space which did not really bother me. I appreciated that Michael offered his car to be pet friendly, but at the same time, if the car has pet hair remained in the car not being cleaned like this, I do not recommend this car for Turo-ers who are allergic to pet hair/fur. Another thing that bothered me more was the 2 warning messages that showed up on the dashboard when I powered up the car. "Routine Maintenance Required", and "Service Engine Soon" which to me was false advertisements as Michael claimed this car is brand new on the car profile page. I highly suggest Michael get the car maintenance done ASAP so other renters would feel safer renting this car. (I would attach images on this review if I could :( I wish Turo will allow renters to attach images to reviews too in the future instead of on the non-public personal trip page only) Other than these 2 points listed above, the overall experience was okay but could've been more frictionless. I would give it a better score if the experience was smoother. Again, no hard feelings, just elaborating and sharing my own experience with the public! :))
