Meet "Sunny," our Toyota FJ Cruiser with a *MANUAL* transmission! Equipped with tons of winter-ready extras such as all-terrain tires, full-time four-wheel drive, auxiliary lighting and a rooftop basket, Sunny is seriously ready for your Colorado adventure. Sunny isn't your typical rental SUV, and we're not your typical Turo hosts. Here's why. 1) He lives full-time on Turo, and we do this full time. 2) He’s available with a host of cargo accessories. 3) He's regularly cleaned and maintained. Plus, we're "car people" who truly understand and have a passion for the vehicles we rent. We understand each of their intricacies and can walk you through how to operate pretty much anything. We're also passionate about customer service, and dedicate ourselves as an on-demand resource from the time you book until the time you return. A: Think of our pricing model like a low-cost airline's "basic" fare. You get a certain number of miles per day, and are responsible for a post-trip vehicle cleaning and refueling. To maximize convenience, simply select post-trip cleaning and pre-paid refuel when you book. Q: What if I need more miles per day? A: You have two options. Drive as much as you'd like and pay a reasonable fee per extra mile -or- select "Unlimited Mileage" as an extra when you book. Q: How does your free airport delivery work? A: We offer a complimentary* airport delivery experience that's convenient and compliant with Denver's new 2020 airport carshare regulations. *To keep a good thing going, we ask that our renters please cover the parking fees upon exiting the facility (up to $14). Anything beyond that amount will be reimbursed to you directly. Q: How does this car do in the mountains? A: All of our vehicles are compliant with winter traction laws in Colorado, and have all been on several successful trips through the mountains. If you're not sure, we're always happy to answer any questions you have. Visit cotrip.org for live road conditions, cameras, closures and restrictions. Q: What type of cargo accessories do you offer? A: Don't overpack or over-spend. Our mission is to reduce waste by sharing our equipment for a reasonable cost. No matter what you need, we probably have it. Guidelines

All we ask is that you *please* not smoke or vape anything in the car. And if you buy an ounce of your favorite strain, please remove it from the car as soon as you reach your destination. It’s a basic courtesy to both other renters and my own kiddos. Also, Sunny loves premium fuel! She won't spontaneously combust if you use regular, but it'll provide slightly worse fuel mileage and power than you'd normally expect.

Faqs

  • Can someone else pick up or return the vehicle?

    Unfortunately not. The driver's license of the individual on the reservation *must* match the driver's license of the operator at all times, or else we will not be able to release the vehicle to you. If logistics change (delayed flight, etc.) and someone else has to pick up or drop off, please contact Turo support directly at 415-965-4525.

  • It looks capable! Can we take it up some trails? Through snowbanks? Up logging roads?

    Turo strictly prohibits off-roading, towing, and any use other than what's normally intended/expected of a vehicle. Our more rugged vehicles, especially those with dedicated four-wheel drive, will be checked after every rental for underbody damage, alignment, clutch wear (if applicable) and more. If there's any doubt, just ask :)

  • Can someone else drive?

    Additional drivers MUST be entered directly into (and subsequently approved by) the Turo app. Simply access your reservation in the app, and click to add a driver. If there are any questions or the situation is urgent, contact Turo support directly at 415-965-4525.

  • Any tips for winter driving out here?

    You bet! We're always here to help. 1) If you're heading into the mountains, be sure to check cotrip.org for current road conditions, closures, tire/chain laws (in extreme conditions) and more. It's a pretty amazing and comprehensive resource. 2) Every vehicle should come with an ice scraper. There are two sides, brush and scraper. PLEASE only use the brush side to clear snow off the vehicle's painted surfaces. DO NOT clear snow or ice off of the vehicle's painted surfaces with the "sharp" (ice) edge. This can cause severe damage to the paint. 3) If you have snow all over the windshield, DO NOT operate the wipers until you've cleared as much snow and ice away from them as possible. Running the wipers to clear away snow and ice can (and will) damage the wipers' motor and transmission which isn't a cheap fix :) 4) All-Wheel-Drive doesn't mean all-wheel turn or all-wheel stop. Amazing experience. Pick up and drop off were super convenient, a short walk from our terminal. Couldn't have picked a better vehicle, we had a mix of conditions and destinations that Sunny had no problems getting through. The ride is nice and the 6 speed makes the drive so much better, plenty of room for my wife and I on or 10 day snowboard trip. Would definitely rent again.

We really live driving a FJ. Manual transmission was smooth and even though it’s been over 20 years since driving a stick shift it was all second nature and no problem at all. The airport delivery and drop process was very convenient.
