I initially had a very positive experience with the booking process. The host was efficient, responsive, and communicated well regarding the pickup. The vehicle was clean and otherwise in good condition. However, upon self-check-in, I discovered that the rear tires were extremely bald, and the front tires were worn below the legal limit. This presented a major safety concern, especially since we were planning to drive into potentially cold and icy areas with my wife and one-year-old baby.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the trip for safety reasons. While the host was pleasant and offered an alternative vehicle, my trust was broken. Turo’s customer service assisted with a refund but did not offer any compensation for the lost time or try to improve the situation in any meaningful way. As a result, we lost a full day of our 3-day trip, and it was too short notice to find another vehicle at a similar price.

This oversight is concerning because another family may not have noticed the tire condition and could have faced dangerous consequences, especially on the highway. I hope the host addresses this issue seriously to avoid future risks.

Great host, Fanuel is communicative and accommodating. The car was a bit old and could have been cleaner but it did not impact the trip.
