The car couldn’t make the trip. I chose this car because it was the “long range, duel motor” model. My trip was to go up to Reno/Tahoe for work from Las Vegas. I talked to Bobby (Owner) about this and it was approved and there were no indications that I would have any issues. While on the trip up to Reno, I realized the battery was draining very quickly and I would not make it to the charging destination unless I went 5 mph under the speed limit the rest of the way. I made it and charged it to 90% as requested by the owner. Once I got on the road again, it was obvious I was rapidly losing battery and soon after, the car started to alert me to alter my speed in order to make it to the next charging station. I realized there was a very real chance I would get stranded in the middle of the desert. The car continued to warn me to go slower and slower. Once it got to 15mph under the speed limit, I had to make the decision to turn back and return the car. It was clear it could not make it from one station to the next. The route was mostly flat road and the wind that day was light so there weren’t adverse factors causing the car to struggle. If I had known there was a chance the car couldn’t make the distance between stations, I wouldn’t have rented it. For this mistake, not only did I have to drive an extra 4.5 hours, lose a day of work, and rent another car, I also had to pay for half of the entire rental amount even though it was a complete disaster. Turo customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Their customer is the car owner, not you, the renter, so keep it in mind that you have no rights or protection should anything go wrong. I would never use Turo again and advise everyone I know not to, as well.

Bobby was very attentive, helpful, and flexible with my rental! I definitely enjoyed the Tesla and trying it out for my road trip!
