Driving? I've longed to drive when I was a teenager so much so I got my permit on the exact day I turned 15 and a half, and my license at 16. Biking was my favorite thing to do growing up in the Tri-Valley, but you can only get so far even with public transit. Driving around unlocked places like Yosemite and Mendocino for me, some of the most scenic places I've had the ability to see in California.
Road tripping is something I've always wanted to get into, but it took me awhile to get life and things in order to do so. Weekend road trips are great, but I'm looking toward cross country, weeklong trips.
I currently drive a 2018 Bolt EV, coming from a 2015 Spark EV. I love electric vehicles of all sorts, cars obviously, but bikes as well. EVs have been an interest of mine since grade school, ever since my family bought a Civic Hybrid back in the late 2000s as a way to cope with rising gas prices.
At this time my dream car is a Tesla Model S, maybe a 3. Not totally sure yet, since I like the body of the S, but the interior of the 3. The range and tech of both these vehicles, are I beleive important in doing long distance trips. Plus their charging speed easily outcompete my previous EVs. A road trip to Reno made this very obvious when I had to wait an hour, to charge for another half hour, at the single CCS plug in Auburn.
Looking to order one in the Summer of 2020, and hand off my current car to mother. Then everyone in my family will be driving electric. Two Bolts with my parents, a Spark with my sister, and a Model S/3 for me.
