📌ℹ️ BLOCKED DATES NOTICE ℹ️📌 Pickup and Dropoff is blocked on the following dates due to travel. The car is still available, but delivery will not be available on those dates. If renting on those dates, pickup and return will have to be self-service, at my house * September 27th to September 29th 📌ℹ️ I AM OFFERING 50% DISCOUNT ON DELIVERY. HERE'S HOW ℹ️📌 You can get 1/2 off on delivery if you can do both of the following: * If you are willing and able to ride me back to my house after bringing the car to your delivery location on dropoff day * If you can bring the car to my house on return day after which, I would ride you the rest of the way to your delivery location My house is 10 minutes drive north of the airport in the White Center neighborhood. Since bringing me back to my house is 1/2 a delivery, you'll get 50% off on the delivery fee. Turo doesn't support me changing the delivery fee, ad-hoc, so in order to do this, you have to book without delivery and tell me in messaging that you can drive me back for delivery, at which point, I would temporarily reduce delivery fee for you and you can modify trip to add delivery at half price. If you have already booked with a delivery location, you can modify trip to remove the delivery, then I would reduce the delivery price, and then you can modify trip a second time to get the reduce delivery fee. The delivery offer will also help make delivery during work hours possible, so if you need that, please mention as well. --- 📌ℹ️NOTICE ON DELIVERYℹ️📌 In order to manage my regular main job, I have reduced delivery to outside my work hours with some buffer for times when there are likely not going to be meetings i.e. 5-10am, 12-1pm and 3-11:30pm. If you would like to have delivery during the work hours, let me know after booking and if we can make it work (usually that means if I don't have a meeting taking place) I will temporarily turn on delivery so you can modify the trip to add delivery. Also if you're willing to participate in the 1/2 off delivery offer that will make it more likely that I can accommodate delivery during work hours. --- If you will be going long distances and need a car that can do fast charging, I recommend, renting my Tesla https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-3/1871806 If you will be going long distances and need additional trunk space or all wheel drive or this Bolt is unavailable for your timeframe, you can also rent my wife's Tesla Model Y https://turo.com/us/en/suv-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-y/2602908 ℹ️ My car is not a fast charging car. Toll Pass Transponder ID: 77 0003472171 🔌 I have a Level 1 110V charger and a Level 2 220/240V charger if where you're staying has an outdoor plug 🔌 Chevy dealers will charge the car for free. This model of the car doesn't include the quick charge option aka the DC Fast Charge option. 🔌 I recommend you install and use Plugshare to your phone to look up public chargers, but Google Maps now supports most EV charging stations as well. ℹ️ My car is not a fast charging car. Read below • It's a 2017 Chevy Bolt. In this year's model, the fast charging was only available on the higher-end trim of the car, which I didn't understand when I bought it. If I'd known, I would have gotten the higher-end model that does fast charging 😓 • As a result, the charging is at 30 miles per hour of battery charge onto the car. That results in 8-10 hours to charge from empty. So overnight charging • If you're going to rent this car, you should make sure that one of these is true ◦ Your destination and return fit into the car's range (238 miles in the summer. 180 miles in the winter) ◦ OR You have an L2 or L1 charger at your destination where you'll be staying, if you're driving a long distance ◦ OR You have access to an outdoor wall outlet, where you're staying, that you can use with the included L1 charging cable ◦ OR if you're only doing city driving where there are chargers nearby • What this means is, you should trickle charge this as much as possible, don't just wait until it's near empty to charge, unless you're headed to your home/AirBnB/hotel which has a J-1772 charger or an outdoor plug (where you can use the included charging cables). Otherwise, consider charging it when it's half empty • To find chargers, Go into Google Maps and Plugshare's settings and set the car charger to J-1772, so only those chargers show up. Then search in those apps when you need to find a charger. • The public charging stations are run by companies that usually use an app to use their charger. • The shifter has a little button on the left side of it. To shift gears, you press down on it with your thumb and while holding it move the shifter in the direction of the letter whose gear you want. • To turn on regen braking, just go into the L driving mode, by going to normal drive mode D with the gearshift and then going to drive mode again. It will show L on the gearshift, and will slow down when you let go of the accelerator. Even if you're not in one pedal driving mode, you can regen brake, by holding down the left steering wheel paddle. I HIGHLY recommend driving with regen braking to extend your driving range. • For the car seat, since it's so bulky, it's only supplied upon request. Make sure to ask for it, and I will include it. The shifter has a little button on the left side of it. To shift gears, you press down on it with your thumb and while holding it move the shifter in the direction of the letter whose gear you want. The exception is park where you just press the P button on the top of the gearshift. To set the emergency brake, you have to flick the emergency brake switch to the left of the gearshift. Hold brake and flick it up to set it and down to unset it. My video explains: https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=50
All of those buttons are similar to any other car. Right steering handle is the wipers. Left steering handle is the turn signal. Left steering wheel buttons are for cruise control. Right steering wheel buttons are for navigating the the dashboard's interface. Behind the steering wheel are two sets of paddles. The one of the left side does the regen braking. The ones on the right side controls volume for the radio. My video explains: https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=30
Electric cars have a feature called regen braking. With regen braking, the car will decelerate when you let go of the accelerator. The car will slow down and recharge the battery a little bit through induction. It's also called one-pedal driving because with it, you don't have to use the brake pedal very often. Normal braking will still work though. To turn on regen braking, just go into the L driving mode, by going to normal drive mode D with the gearshift and then going to drive mode again. It will show L on the gearshift, and will slow down when you let go of the accelerator. Even if you're not in one pedal driving mode, you can regen brake, by holding down the left steering wheel paddle. I HIGHLY recommend driving with regen braking to extend your driving range.
This car is not a fast charging car. See the car description for explanation. You can still use it day to day though. It can slow charge at about 7kWh, or 30 miles of charge added to the battery per hour. This equates to 8-10 hours to fully charge from empty. Overnight charging, basically. This is called L2 charging. It uses a car charging plug called J-1772. The other levels of charging are L1, which uses your normal wall outlet, charges about 3kWh or 10 miles of charge per hour. This equates to 24 hours to fully charge from empty. Last resort charging basically. All electric cars can charge with this. It also uses the J-1772 car charging plug. If your stay has an outdoor wall outlet, you can charge with the included L1 charging plug. The level of charging that this car does not support is fast charging or L3 charging. This is in the higher end trim of my year's car. This only takes 45 minutes to charge from empty. It uses a car charging plug called CCS. Only public chargers can charge this fast. If you will be going long distances and need a car that can do fast charging, consider renting my Tesla https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-3/1871806 My video explains: https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=154
There are two main ways. Google Maps, and an app called Plugshare. First thing is to setup the apps so that when you search on them, they pull up L1, and L2 charging stations. For Google Maps go into the Settings -> Electric Vehicle Settings -> Set it to Wall Outlet and J-1772 https://www.howtogeek.com/762729/how-to-find-ev-charging-stations-in-google-maps/ My video explains: https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=220 Once you have Google Maps setup, you can go search for car charging stations For Plugshare, you add a vehicle. Instructions linked below. Add a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt LT https://help.plugshare.com/hc/en-us/articles/6112828293139 You can get Plugshare from the app stores, and it's also available as a website https://www.plugshare.com My video explains: https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=269 Once you have Plugshare setup, you can just open it and choose Nearby and charging stations will be displayed. Can also use the individual charging service apps which have maps and search for their chargers If you will be going long distances and need a car that can do fast charging, consider renting my Tesla https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-3/1871806
The public charging stations all, each have an app needed per charging station company. This app will unlock the station to start charging, and it handles the payments. I recommend installing and setting up an account for each of them before the trip, and then optionally uninstall the apps, and then if you need to use a particular station, you can just redownload the app and log back in and you're already setup A typical public L2 charger charges at a rate of about 30 miles per hour. So factor that into your plans These are the popular charging companies in the area • Chargepoint - https://www.chargepoint.com/drivers/mobile/ • Blink - https://www.blinknetwork.com/mobile.html • Semaconnect - https://www.semaconnect.com/blog/download-our-app/ • EVgo - https://www.evgo.com/download-app/ • Electrify America - https://www.electrifyamerica.com/mobile-app These are also in the area but not as much • Shell Recharge - https://shellrecharge.com/en-gb/public-charging/shell-recharge-app • Volta - Volta charging stations actually operates on advertising and are free, so you don't need to install the app to use it. Their app is just optionally used to find Volta stations. ◦ 🍏 https://apps.apple.com/us/app/volta-charging/id1000230545 ◦ 🤖 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.volta.android If you will be going long distances and need a car that can do fast charging, consider renting my Tesla https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-3/1871806
Yes. I have a Level 1 charging cable and a Level 2 charging cable included in the trunk. The Level 1 charging cable uses a normal wall outlet, and charges at 110V, or about 3kWh, which puts 10 miles of charge onto the battery per hour. Very slow. Takes 24 hours to fully charge from empty. Use it to trickle charge the car, if the option is available to you. So if your AirBnB has an outdoor wall plug, just leave it plugged in all the time while it's there. The Level 2 charging cable uses the 220V NEMA 14-50 wall plug, like the ones a washing machine would use. If such an outlet is available to you, that would be recommended. It's slow but not as slow as the L1. It charges at 7kWh, which puts 30 miles of battery on the car per hour. Takes 8-10 hours to fully charge from empty. Use it to overnight charge the car. Public charging stations also charge at this speed. My video explains https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=526 If you need a car that supports fast charging aka Level 3 charging, consider renting my Tesla https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/seattle-wa/tesla/model-3/1871806
Apple Carplay and Android Auto are both available on the car. A USB-C cable is included. For Apple, an adapter is included. My video explains https://youtu.be/WdUaxuKhwXQ?t=372
