The car drove well and got me to my destinations with no problems. My questions were responded to promptly. I will definitely use Zahn Cars again.

The car was filthy inside and out. I took it through a car wash (for which I was promised reimbursement but have not been given.) I wasted almost two hours waiting in line at the car wash and personally cleaning the sticky residue on the interior before I could even start my trip. The check engine and the emergency brake lights were on the whole time. The engine would barely turn over every time; twice it didn't turn over the first time and I thought I would be stuck. I checked the emergency brake multiple times without successfully getting the light to go off, and I've never had an automatic transmission roll back so hard at a stop on these SF hills. Despite all of this I was able to get my people where they needed to go, and I am grateful for the service.

The car was in a secure location but it was dirty (exterior and interior), hard to start, and had multiple warning lights on. Host required a lot of documentation (drivers license photos, receipts for gas, etc). Overall, do not recommend.

I was alarmed that the check engine and maintenance required lights were on, but the car drove fine (it’s a gas cap issue I think). For the price it did the job and would use again. The check in and check out process was easy enough. Very communicative host with a good demeanor

Car was pretty dirty, for example wood chips in backseat plus empty water bottle under the driver seat. “Needs maintenance” alerts were stuck ON, like low tire pressure, engine maintenance, etc. The neighborhood was extremely sketchy. I live in civic center and so I’m used to the presence of homeless people. But some man with face tattoos threatened to kill me if I didn’t stop following. In reality, I was just trying to get the gate to the parking lot open, which was difficult due to old, dirty combination lock. The parking lot was very difficult to exit. You need to back up into traffic and turn around on a very narrow street. It was very stressful navigating out of parking. The car took 3-5 seconds to start where the engine sputtered a bit. So leaving the city for a rural work trip was a bit worrying that I’d need to call a tow. That said, nothing bad happened. All around, budget, hertz etc would have been my preference if they don’t close at 5pm. Turo provided a viable workaround, but for having a similar price point, the experience was nowhere near as enjoyable.
