Description

FREE SLC AIRPORT PICK UP AND RETURN if you will treat my car like you are borrowing it from a good friend. I don’t charge guests for SLC airport delivery or airport drop off (most Turo hosts charge $80 for this service). However, the guest agrees to pay the airport exit parking lot one-time fee which averages around $15. This is a reliable Toyota Camry with great air conditioning for the summer and strong heat for the winter. There are some dings and scratches and a couple minor interior cosmetic issues but it will get you where you need to go with all the reliability and great gas mileage of a Toyota Camry. So to manage expectations, you are renting a reliable and well-kept vehicle but it is not brand new. Terms and conditions: By requesting to rent my car, driver agrees to the Turo host’s following terms, conditions, and principles of respect for the vehicle. -Host has a $750,000 vehicle liability insurance on this vehicle. Guests should consult with insurance experts to best determine how to protect themselves when renting from Turo. Keep in mind host and guest insurance plans are separate. Guest is responsible for any damages to the vehicle occurring on their trip and agrees to pay for repairs beyond the out-of-pocket maximum of their protection plan. Learn more about insurance here: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050217754-Guest-charges-for-damage-claims#article-title-1 Guest responsible for lost key replacement. -No smoking, vaping, pets, sleeping overnight or anything like it in the car. If car is returned with a cigarette smoke smell (or anything like it such as weed or vaping smell or pet hair), the driver will be charged the maximum Turo violation fee. Cars returned extremely messy or “trashed” may be charged the maximum Turo cleaning fee. Car will be picked up and returned with a full tank of gas. Cars returned without a full tank of gas will be charged the amount to fill the gas tank + a maximum Turo fee. -Guest will call or text Turo host if they have any issues including: locking keys in the car, accidents, tickets/citations/fees, etc. -No off-road driving. Obey all traffic laws, never drive while under any impairment, and no hauling lumber or dirty or large building materials for projects. No towing of any kind. This is a passenger car, not a work or off-road vehicle. The vehicle has a tracking device in it. -Driver understands that their Turo host is a local renter and not a large rental company with vehicle resources in a large geographical area; therefore, if the renter is further than 100 miles away from the host, the host will not be able to provide timely assistance for car issues that may arise. Therefore, the host strongly recommends the driver obtain an insurance plan that will provide such resources and support for longer road trips. Host’s insurance plan does provide roadside assistance for up to 15 miles towing. -To manage expectations, you are renting a reliable vehicle but it is not brand new (minor interior wear and tear and exterior scratches) but it will take you anywhere you want to go and back. You can pick up this car and return it to the SLC airport economy parking lot. Host recommends planning for up to 30 minutes to take the free economy lot shuttle to SLC airport terminals. -Driver and host will be responsible, reasonable, and respectful of each other based on an understanding of the above terms, conditions, and principles.

This was my first time using Turo. I don’t think I’ll be using it again soon. I’m not sure it’s the host’s fault, but the fees on top of the base rate were ridiculous. For the same price that I rented this *VERY well used* older model car, I could’ve rented a brand new one from budget… while this car did get me from point a to B, it clearly needs some love. The description said it would be $15 to get out of the economy lot which is funny because it should only be $10 a day… And I ended up paying 20 to leave the lot putting my overall cost for renting this vehicle over $100 for 24 hours. I would rate this experience as functional but disappointing.” Turo review.. 3/5 stars. Too harsh?

Daniel's response

Interesting review. I offered to reimburse parking fees over $15 (it was $5 over that). Also, $20 + $35 is $55, not $100. Math is awesome! Can’t please everybody.

The car ran really well and gave me no trouble. It has some minor cosmetic flaws, but that didn't bother me. It got me everywhere I wanted to go. The best part about this car is a very good heater in the very cold weather. I would use this car again!
