Description

Enjoy this pre-autopilot 2014 Metallic Blue Model S 85. If you ever wanted to experience the day in the life of an EV owner this is your ride. Simplicity is the key. Get in - GO - SMILE :-) TIPS: * Higher speeds decrease range. Drive below 70mph (namely for long distances). * Keep A/C about 73+. A/C usage affects long range. <300wh is optimal. * If planning for long trips please let me know, I can suggest a planning app.. I drove from Chicago to Dallas for $0 * I monitor the car occasionally to make sure the battery does not get extremely low. * tesla recommends charging to 80%. * please charge when you reach 20%.

Guidelines

Guest is responsible for returning the car at the same level of charge as when they picked it up. No animals or smoking please. Plan on charging when range is 50 miles or 20% capacity.

Faqs

  • Charging:

Please indicate if you will be traveling outside the DFW metroplex. Tesla recommends charging to 80-90% capacity for daily driving and 100% for long hall trips. I generally have it charged to 80% giving a maximum 200 mile range. Where to charge: Destination charging: A lot of hotels (e.g. NYLO) have a Tesla brand charger (26 miles per hour / 7-9 hours) SuperCharging: New supercharging station in Dallas. Also one hidden in Plano @ Legacy/Tollway (1 hour for a full charge). At home: 220 40 amp: 26 miles per hour, or 7-9 hours for a full charge. Charge cables available upon request. Basically a dryer plug.

  • Tolls

For DFW airport drop-off, I try to drop the car off at the gate 2 hours before your arrival. Expect to pay $3-$9 for parking upon exit. You will be charged for any tolls incurred during your rental period. These will be assessed after your rental return.

  • Battery usage

80% charge will give at most 200 mile range. 90% charge will give about 230 mile range. BUT none of this is true if you - have the AC on 70 degrees or lower blasting the fan. (is your house really that cold). I recommend about 73-74. - go over about 70 mph for long distances. Plan on recharging when range reaches 50. Please be considerate on how far you drain the battery. This is not to impose range anxiety. Most of us refuel our cars when we either have 1/4 tank (about 50 or so miles left) or worst case when the light comes on which is about 2 gallons of gas (avg 30 mile range). If you'll be doing more travelling it makes sense to charge it before you reach these thresholds.

  • What happens if I run the Tesla out battery?

Contact Turo Roadside Assistance from the app and arrange towing to the nearest supercharger. You will be charged $150 excessive battery wear fee.

Ryan’s model S is everything you could ask for and he’s all about letting you enjoy the full Tesla experience, with good care of course. You can tell she’s been loved & very well taken care of and I’m grateful for people like Ryan who let others like myself enjoy his precious baby. He’s very communicative so do not hesitate to ask for advice or help. Can’t wait for the next time to drive Edna. 5 out of 5!
