This stunning car is the California dream. Rent this beautiful 1965 Shelby Cobra continuation car which began Ford's journey to beating Ferrari. There's not one place you will go without turning heads. It is hands down the coolest car. Even with a valet full of McLarens, Ferraris and Lamborghini's, this is the car that people stop to photograph, ask about and admire. This continuation car was built by Superformance and was licensed by Shelby motor company and Carrol Shelby to manufacture fully factory built cars, and was one of only 2 manufacturers of the Cobra continuation cars when Shelby began their recreation series. The build and quality is superb, with a mixture of modern technology that makes the car fast and useable. It has a 545 HP, 408 Stroker Windsor engine built by Keith Craft racing, 4 wheel disk brakes, authentic hammer-off wheels, and only weighs 2200lbs. 500+ horsepower in something that weighs 2000 lbs! Even if you’ve driven something fast, nothing compares to the sensations of this car. In order to rent this vehicle you have to be an expert with standard\ manual gearbox transmission, and be able to demonstrate driving ability upon pickup. You'll also have to allot 30-45 minutes of time to be given a full car tutorial upon checkout. Guidelines
I hope to rent this beautiful car out to the most responsible Turo members. Please treat it well and bring it back just the way it was. This is a very well cared for classic, and has special rules for care. Most renters are incredible and care for vehicles as their own. These rules are meant to deter anyone who doesn't share those values from renting. ******This car has to be stored covered (Car cover included), in an indoor locked garage. The vehicle has multiple trackers installed. If it is found to have been stored outdoors or in an unsecured lot over-night there will be a $2000 fine. Expect to fill out a rental agreement, credit card authorization. This vehicle is the perfect cruiser, and is a ton of fun to drive around town. It cannot be used for racing. Excessive aggressive driving or race track locations will flag with the tracking system, and could potentially result in early termination of your rental without reimbursement. ***Burnouts are not allowed. Tire tread, and clutch are measured by a mechanic prior to and immediately upon returning the vehicle. Any excessive wear on tires will result in an $800 charge. Clutch damage will result in cost of replacement. *Pets are not allowed. Turo charges up to $150 for proper detailing to remove signs of pets. There are renters with serious pet allergies that need to be considered, and this cleaning would be mandatory. *Absolutely no smoking, vaping OR marijuana use. Turo charges up to $250 for smoking. *Absolutely no track or racing. The car comes with a monitoring system that alerts for unauthorized location and route. *No fragrances or air fresheners of any sort inside the car. *91 Gas only, please keep the receipts. This is absolutely important. Lower grade gas will ruin the motor. Any missing receipts will result in a fine.
