Description

You have found the Holy Grail of cars to drive in Las Vegas. This is a 1965 Shelby Cobra replica. No expense was spared and it shows. NOTHING on the road has as much eyeball as this monster. Oh and its fast.... insanely fast. This car is the epitome of driving perfection. Tons of power, extremely light weight, manual steering and brakes makes this the ULTIMATE drivers car and with an all modern drivetrain, it means it is as reliable as it is gorgeous. Unlike the other classic cars listed in Vegas, there are no worries about overheating or longer drives. Understand this is a vintage car. Things like air conditioning, radio, backup cameras do not come equipped. It is an amazing car to drive, handles perfect, sounds and looks even better. Oh... the sound... it is what every car wishes it sounds like. This car is for someone who loves driving. WARNING. You will be required to prove you can drive a manual transmission well in the parking lot before your trip starts. Please do not rent this car if you are not an expert at a manual transmission, it will be uncomfortable for both of us. This car is very light, has a ton of power and has no modern traction control.... that means if you cannot drive a stick comfortably you will probably hurt yourself. 🌆Maximize the amazing views and amazing sounds 🌞Gorgeous car, gorgeous paint 🏜Take it to Red Rock, 7 Magic Mountains, Valley of Fire or even the Hoover Dam 🏎There are tons of great drives that we can give you directions to ⏳Last minute bookings available! ✨Cleanliness and sanitation is our priority __ 🛬 Pickups / Drop offs 🛫 ✅ LAS – We are NOT able to pickup or dropoff at the airport, Las Vegas has made it illegal. It’s is the closest big body of water to Las Vegas, so everyone comes here to ski, swim, and boat. It’s also the only real source of usable water in Southern Nevada and levels are dropping rapidly. Check it out while you still can! Pro tip: A day pass for the Lake Mead Resort & Marina is $10 per vehicle. But if you plan on coming back, the yearly pass is a far better deal at $30. ➡️The Hoover Dam, NV⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 40 miles; 45-minute drive Boulder City, NV is the closest town to the dam and has a small tourism industry based around the engineering masterpiece, the construction of which pretty much set the stage for modern Las Vegas. But you may find it more fun to go four-wheeling or zip-lining at Bootleg Canyon and grabbing a beer at the Boulder Dam Brewing Co. Pro tip: Boulder City is one of the few areas in the entire state where gambling is illegal. So if you need a fix, stop while driving down on US 93 and play a few slot machines at the recently renovated and re-opened Hoover Dam Lodge, previously known as the Hacienda Hotel and Casino. ➡️Valley of Fire State Park, NV⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 50 miles northeast; 56-minute drive The sandstone formations date back to the dinosaurs and appear to actually be on fire when the sun reflects off ‘em just right. Hence the name. It also looks like Mars so much, parts of Total Recall were filmed here back in the late ‘80s. Pro tip: Keep your eyes peeled for petroglyphs, which are drawings on stone walls by ancient civilizations. Think of it as old-school graffiti. ➡️Pahrump, NV⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 65 miles west; 1.25-hour drive For a town of just 37,000 people, there’s a surprising amount of fun stuff going on around here, including the only two wineries in Southern Nevada, a couple impressive golf courses, and Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, where you can learn how to race a Corvette, or learn how to fly above the lake in a water-powered jetpack. If you’re in a naughty mood, there is also Sheri’s Ranch, the closest legal brothel to Las Vegas. Heck, even Vince Neil is planning to open a bar here soon, which may or may not be a good thing. Pro tip: Check out the Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, considered by many to be the top weapons training and self-defense school in the world. ➡️Laughlin, NV⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 98 miles southeast; 1.5-hour drive Laughlin is unfairly known as a “mini Las Vegas” and was the basis for a TV show a few years ago called Viva Laughlin that was so bad, it was cancelled after just three episodes. While its neon lights are no match for what you’ll find in Vegas, it does have a few things to offer, such as a sweet riverwalk, tons of outdoor activities, and the Laughlin River Run, a massive annual motorcycle event. You’ll be in hog heaven. Pro tip: The Colorado Belle isn’t really a riverboat. It’s just a hotel and casino on the river made to look like one, but skip the tower rooms and get a “boat room” anyway. They are a little nicer and tend to have a better view. ➡️Death Valley, CA⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 142 miles west; 2.5-hour drive  Death Valley, with the the highest recorded temperature in history at 134 degrees, is the lowest, driest, and hottest place in North America. But it’s also fun! Tours will take you out to the 282ft-below-sea-level Badwater Basin, abandoned gold mines, ghost towns, and the “Devil’s Golf Course” with jagged salt formations left behind from a lake that evaporated thousands of years ago.   Pro tip: There’s also Scotty’s Castle, a historic villa dating back to the 1920s. But keep in mind, it’s even farther away, hard to reach, and could add hours to your trip. ➡️Zion National Park, UT⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 161 miles northeast; 2.5-hour drive Hit the road and travel through Nevada, Arizona, and finally Utah before the desert suddenly gets a lot more green. You’ll find yourself walking among trees, waterfalls, rocks, and up to 19 different species of bats. Pro tip: Not all hiking trails are created equal. The infamous Angels Landing is a 2.5-mile hike with steep and narrow pathways. It even comes with a warning sign with the number of people who have died on the trail. ➡️Grand Canyon, AZ⬅️ 🔵Distance from Las Vegas: 270 miles; 4.15-hour drive You know the deal. It’s the biggest hole in the ground in the United States. There are more than a few tours that originate from Las Vegas, including some by helicopter. Pro tip: The South Rim is the nicest part. It’s cleaner, has the best views, and is run by the National Park Service. The Hualapai Tribe runs the West Rim and operates the famous skywalk. Stay away from the remote North Rim.

Guidelines

Please treat the vehicle with respect for us and future guests. This means no smoking, pets or excessive filth. We are very easy going but violating the very few conditions Turo has leads to large fines. Also, due to Turo policies, all communication bust be through the Turo Messaging App.

Faqs

  • Does the car have A/C, bluetooth, gps etc

No, its a light fiberglass body strapped to a wildly powerful motor... thats about it. It drives amazing, but it's a very raw experience. It does have heated seats which helps quite a bit when it's cooler out. Also we have a heated blanket we can include for the passenger as an extra

  • Is this a manual transmission?

Yes. You must prove that you can drive a manual transmission before you leave with the car. That means a few stop and go's and laps around our parking lot. Small, featherweight body, tons of horsepower and no traction control means you MUST be comfortable with a manual transmission. Please don't book this car if you are not, it will be an uncomfortable conversation for us all.

  • What engine is in this car? How much horsepower?

This is my second cobra. My first had the iconic 427 in it. But it was insanely heavy and always struggled with making it handle. This time I went with a 302, stroked to a 347ci motor. It has as much power as my 427 but weighs 1/3 as much so the car has all the power, but also handles like a dream. We dynoed the motor and it had 425 horsepower and 435 ft pounds of torque.

  • Who built this car? What brand is it?

This is a Factory 5 roadster. It was built by Levy Racing in Arizona. Widely considered to be the best cobra builder in the world. They did an amazing job.
