Additional Notes: 1) Tesla can be picked up at any time of the day (you're welcome to leave your vehicle in my driveway) or as a "paid extra," I can drop it off at one of the airports. I expect the vehicle to be returned in as close to the same condition as it was given to you. As long as it's pretty close to the cleanliness as when you picked it up (I understand that it won't be perfect) then you're good to go! US$50/trip

Sorry no dogs, cats, or pets please. 3) Operation of vehicle is prohibited on unpaved roads or any surface other than a state or county maintained road i.e. no off-roading. 4) This Tesla is not to be driven on a racetrack or be involved in any illegal exhibition of speed. 5) You don't need to worry about washing the car yourself since that's included in your rental. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep the car as nice as possible. Please treat the car like your own and prevent messes by not eating, smoking, or allowing pets in the car. I expect the vehicle to be returned in as close to the same condition as it was given to you. As long as it's pretty close to the cleanliness as when you picked it up (I understand that it won't be perfect) then you're good to go! NOTIFY ME IMMEDIATELY IF: - the car incurs any damage while under your care - you will be late returning the car - if you are needing to tow - must be approved The Tesla will have at least 200 miles of charge when delivered. If picked up the car from the Tesla's location it will have at least 225 miles of charge. You are expected to return it in the same condition as it was in when you received it. There will be a $20 cleaning fee if the car is not in same-or-better condition upon return as it was at delivery. Does not cover upholstery cleaning, spills, stains, pet hair, or smoke removal. Please Note: You will be responsible for any damage or cleaning fees as a result of not following these guidelines!! ***At the end of your rental, we will settle for any charging fees incurred from Tesla superchargers, Chargepoint Stations, or tolls***

Faqs

  • How do I charge the Tesla Model 3?

One of Three ways: 1) At any of the 1,200+ Tesla Superchargers across North America - see the list at https://www.testla.com/supercharger (for fast charging) 2) House/Apartment: Via plug into standard 120 outlet or a NEMA 14-50 (electric dryer, stove, or wall) outlet 3) At your Destination: Tesla chargers are available at many popular locations all over Houston - See https://www.tesla.com/destination-charging or visit https://www.plugshare.com/ for EV Charging locations. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING PLUGSHARE or CHARGEPOINT. Especially for overnight charging. I personally use either the PlugShare app or the ChargePoint app. Both make it really easy to find 1000's of available charging spots, many of which are free. A lot of hotels and Airbnb's around Houston offer free charging to their guests, too. You can also look at the Volta or EVgo apps for additional charging options.

  • I'm thinking about buying my own Tesla. Do you have a referral link I could use?

Place an order for your new Tesla through this link (https://www.tesla.com/referral/anders62389) and earn free supercharging miles for your new ride! Please refer to Tesla's site for current promotions related to referral purchases.

  • Is your Tesla equipped with toll tags?

Yes! I want to make your driving experience on toll roads as seamless as possible. However, I will send you a reimbursement for the toll service charges after the car is checked back in.

  • How fast will the Tesla Model 3 charge?

At a Supercharger, assuming near empty battery, one can get 200+ miles in 20-30 minutes. Charging speeds may vary at EV Charging locations but at full speed the (48 Amps 240V) one can get you up to 40 miles per hour of charging. Usually it's somewhere around 25-30 miles per hour of charging at public charging stations. Whereas the regular wall outlet adapter might get you 3-5 miles of charge per hour.

  • Do I have to return the car charged and clean?

For charging the Tesla? The answer is no in most cases! Your "tank" is a bonus included in the price of the rental. However, please have it returned with at least 75 miles or else a $15 "refilling" fee will apply. I hope this incentives you to rent this Tesla and alleviate the extra out of pocket costs vs a standard gas rental. For cleaning the Tesla? The answer is also no in most cases! I expect the car to be returned in as close to the same condition as it was given to you. No food, drinks, pets, smoking or vaping inside the vehicle. As long as it's pretty close to the cleanliness as when you picked it up (I understand that it won't be perfect) then you're good to go! However, I will levy a cleaning fee to maintain the highest standard experience for the next renter if I have reason to believe you failed to adhere to my policies. You may be charged up to a $250 cleaning fee if the car is returned with pet hair, smoke smell, etc. In most cases (except if the car gets extremely dirty), you really won't have to worry about cleaning the car on your own since that cost is already included in the rental. (If you do, for any reason, need to clean the car, please use ONLY Touch-less and or Hand Wash to clean the exterior if you are cleaning it yourself to maintain the integrity of the paint)

  • Is your vehicle equipped with Autopilot, Autosteer, Smart-Summon and Self-Parking?

Yes to Autopilot and Autosteer! This is currently the most exciting feature of owning an AP Tesla and I will demonstrate it at the beginning of our rental period. This car is only equipped with Standard Autopilot so it does not have Smart Summon or Self-Parking capabilities.

  • What is Autopilot? How does it work?

Autopilot is Tesla's name for it's driving assistance feature. It is not true fully autonomous "self driving." The car can steer itself between well marked lane lines, and can keep pace with traffic; i.e. you set the max speed and the car will speed up and slow down with traffic up to the max speed set. The system is awesome, but has limitations. Some of the limitations I've noticed: it doesn't do well in the left-most lane, or the right-most lane. The best location is one of the middle lanes of a highway. It also will slightly swerve back and forth within the lane when you crest a hill, as the vision system re-acquires the lane lines on the other side of the hill. The car does not do well when someone cuts you off / changes lanes in front of you & is very close to you. This system can be activated on surface streets but it is NOT recommended. Standard Autopilot does not react to street signs, traffic lights/signals, pedestrians, cyclists, animals, or anything other than cars. If you engage AP on surface streets, it will drive straight through red lights, stop signs, hit pedestrians, etc. Finally, AP is not perfect, even on a highway in a middle lane; it will occasionally mess up and lose sight of the lane and steer out of your lane accidentally. So you really must still pay attention. The system requires you to keep your hands on the wheel, even when auto-steer is enabled. That said, it is still amazing to use and reduces driver fatigue greatly, and it has prevented many accidents since its release, so despite the limitations it is a safety feature! To enable autopilot, the system must be "ready." You will know it's ready when you see two icons on the dashboard display: first is the speed control icon (a circle with a speed number in it, e.g. "45") right below the speed indicator, and an autosteer icon (a steering wheel) to the left of that. When both of these are displayed, you "double pull" the cruise control stalk on the right of the steering column. You must keep your hands on the wheel or the Tesla will sense that no pressure is being applied and will shut off AP for the remainder of the trip. To disengage AP, push the stalk up once, or tap the brakes. When autosteer is enabled, manually steering the car will disengage auto-steer. If only the speed control icon is shown you may only engage traffic-adaptive-cruise-control (single pull of the cruise control stalk).
