If anyone not added to rental contract as an authorized driver on Turo does drives the vehicle, then entire deposit will be withheld and the rental contract immediately voided.

This was my first experience with Turo and it went better than I expected. The host was very responsive and the transaction went smoothly, even with all my initial questions about picking up and dropping off the car from the airport. Also, the car itself was great. It was clean and drove well. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

Car performed well. Pick up and drop off went good. Error message about the emergency brake, but didn’t seem to affect the safety or performance.

Communication with the host was not great. I should’ve booked a different car when the host didn’t respond to my question about their car seat when I made the booking for a full week. Pickup was another issue. This being my 1st time using Turo, I assumed the host would message me since they were dropping the car at the airport to tell where it was parked. That never happened so I thought maybe pickup instructions would show up once my trip time began. When that didn’t happen I messaged the host. A few days prior the host mentioned the car would be parked directly across from baggage claim, so I went searching the parking lot and then the parking garage. I messaged the host and called but they didn’t answer and their voice mail box was full. I called and messaged the host several more times without a response so I was starting to feel distressed at this point having walked one entire level of Parking garage with no sign of this car and no way to get my toddler transported from the airport. I went back to the airport to book a rental car and while I was speaking with the agent the host’s daughter called me and told me the car was parked on the lower level of the parking garage. It was where she said but this wasn’t a good start to my vacation. Next issue was the car seat - it didn’t have the lower anchor LATCH attachment straps, which comes standard with every car seat made for the last 20 years. Also the pad of the seat had been drenched with febreeze? so my baby’s backside was wet when we got her out. Not sure if this seat was garbage picked especially for us or what but fyi to the host you can get a decent used seat off FB marketplace for $20 that is complete with all safety features. Otherwise the car drove fine aside from dashboard lights saying it needs maintenance or oil, which sometimes are just sensor issues that hopefully the host will fix so it’s not bothersome to other renters. Knocking off 2 stars for the issues listed above. Also i had to buy an experience adapter for charging my cell phone because there’s no USB hookups.

Shayna I’m so sorry that you had a bad experience. But after looking at the messages, I did message you back concerning the car seat. All the info on pickup and drop off are in listing and after parking the car, we sent you a message with location of the car but you never responded. When we drove out of parking garage that’s when we saw the messages from you and called you. Car seat is steamed after each use, but I’ll buy another to switch in future. The car has Bluetooth and USB is in armrest
