How do I charge the electric vehicle?
There are 3 ways to charge your Tesla. 💥Please read the pro-tip at the end!💥 1. Use the charging cable in the trunk of the Tesla to charge on a standard 3-prong outlet. The charging cable has a 220 plug on it, but there is also a 110 adapter for standard wall outlet charging. A standard 110 charger will recharge the Tesla about 5 miles in one hour (very slow). A 220 outlet will recharge the Tesla about 30 miles in one hour. 2. Charging at a Tesla Supercharger. Use the Tesla maps to find your closest charging station. Superchargers can charge the battery to 80% full in under 30 minutes! BE CAREFUL...once the Tesla is fully charged, you have 5 minutes to unplug the charger from the car before tesla starts charging an “Idle Fee” of $.50-1.00 per minute! The charging costs + idle fees will be charged to me and then passed onto you after the trip. See the details at this link below. https://www.tesla.com/support/supercharger-idle-fee 3. Charging at a non-Tesla charging station. This is the most cost-effective and time-saving way to charge the Tesla. There are a lot of third party charging systems all over the valley. All of these charging systems have their own iPhone/Android apps for you to locate and track charging. Here are the most popular charging networks in the area. - Charge Point: Most of them are free, just download the app and create an account! When you arrive, hold your phone up to the charge point station to initiate a charging session. - Volta: Totally free, no app needed! Just pull in and plug in. Most are located at Whole Foods grocery stores but there is also one at the Scottsdale Quarter. - Blink: Never free, occasionally malfunctioning and unavailable. You’ll need the Blink app & create account to initiate a charging session. 💥TIP💥 When using a 3rd party charger, you will need to connect the Tesla charging adapter to the tip of the charger for compatibility. When you are done charging, you will need to “unlock” the adapter from the charging port through the Tesla’s touch screen before you can remove the adapter from the charging port. The adapter is locked in the charging port to keep it from getting stolen. Call me if you need any help!
