The Volvo C70 with Polestar Optimization is a hardtop convertible with seating for four people. This is an ideal car for a day at the beach or a ride in the mountains or through the countryside. Because it is a hardtop and takes about a minute to put the top up or down there is shelter from a rain shower and security of personal items while the car is parked. Raising and lowering the top is a one-button process with no manual locking of the top or any of the other procedures often found in past convertibles. Just have the car running and in Park, and press one button. Keep doors closed and hands and arms clear of windows until the instrument cluster reads "Top Fully Up" or "Top Fully Down." Everything is automatic including roof-locking and window up/down operation. UPDATE: Polestar Optimization has been added! The performance improvement is dramatic. Volvo describes this upgrade as follows: [ Polestar Performance Optimisation enhances driving pleasure and increases the performance of your Volvo. The technology has been developed by Polestar in close cooperation with engineers at Volvo. The car feels more active to drive while simultaneously increasing safety in situations where further performance is required, for example when overtaking. All engines are optimised with a focus on torque and power within the speed range that the driver usually uses, i.e. the midrange. The increased performance comes when it is needed most; on long up-hills or for overtaking, which provides increased safety, as better acceleration reduces the time it takes to overtake. ] In other words, it "moves right along pretty darn quickly and pretty darn soon." UPDATE: I recently added the SmartTOP module to the C70. This permits one-touch operation of the top from both inside the car and remotely from the key fob. Pressing the key fob UNLOCK button 3 times at 1-second intervals will start an automatic top-down operation. Doing the same with the LOCK button will raise the top. Gas mileage is quite good at 28 mpg average and the turbocharged 5-cylinder with an automatic transmission is quite peppy. It uses PREMIUM fuel, but not much of it. The car is equipped with AM, FM, CD, USB, Bluetooth (including telephone pairing), and auxiliary input ports. There is a Sirius/XM subscription included with this High-Performance Audio system. Headlights are automatic. There are fog lights. Heated leather seats may be switched on for those days when there is a chill in the air. The car also is air-conditioned as one would expect with a Volvo. This Volvo C70 has been used for special events including proms, weddings, and quinceañeras. The car is equipped with a factory-optioned voice-controlled Garmin GPS unit that receives real-time traffic updates. Its database is updated frequently. The car has an E-ZPass transponder. Any tolls will be charged to the Guest at the conclusion of the trip at the same toll rate with no added fee or surcharge. This is a fun car to drive. The Volvo C70 is based on the Volvo S40 frame. The ride is very smooth on Pirelli tires. The roof retracts into the trunk and because of this, trunk space is limited but a surprising amount of stuff can be placed under the special guard that delineates the roof storage area from the personal items area. Some consideration should be given if the desire is to haul a lot of stuff to the beach. From a personal standpoint, this is a mint-condition car that I bought to add to my Turo-rented vehicles (I rent a Smart ForTwo, as well). It is in great condition and I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to rent it, but my experience with Turo Guests is overwhelmingly favorable. I hope you enjoy this car as much as I do!
