This is the performance version with the $15k optional Full Self-Driving capability software that most rental Teslas do not have. If you’re renting a Tesla, you must experience this, it’s u like anything you’ve ever encountered on a car and makes long distances trips dramatically more safe and relaxing. Being a performance model, not only does it looks cool, it goes like a rocket with 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. Add to that the huge rear and front trunks plus space for 5 full size adults and you really can’t choose a better vehicle for your trip. Rated range is about 300mi but Tesla recommends charging to 90% which is about 280ish miles of range. How do I charge it? At the start of your trip it should have about 280mi of range so you may not need to charge at all. If you do, the Tesla charging network is abundant all over SoCal so wherever you’re going, it will be easy and fast to charge. I’m also happy to help you plan a trip, I know the anxiety many feel but trust me, it’s really easy! After your trip, I will request reimbursement for charging costs (average recharge is $15ish and 20ish minutes) How about pick up and drop off? Pick up and drop off point is in Encinitas just off the 5. I have free 24hr parking in the neighborhood so you can safely leave a personal vehicle here. How does insurance work? Turo provides protection during your trip, based on what level of coverage you elect. Please note, it does not cover Mexico so you cannot take the car over the border.
