Save a ton on gas money while you commute, deliver, or ride share! BMW made a unique car when they built the i3 with the Rex (range extender). The Rex is a gas generator that recharges the battery while you drive, so getting stranded without power is not an issue you'll run into with this car. This little car looks small on the outside, but comfortably seats 4. The back seats fold down for extra cargo space. Included with this rental: a universal USB cable that's compatible with all modern devices, a charger for the vehicle that can be plugged into an ordinary household plug, an extension cord, and a tip for finding free charging stations: the PlugShare app, which links the addresses right to your Google or Apple Maps. IMPORTANT: as this is an electric vehicle, it has inherent range limitations. The range extender will automatically maintain the battery at a low charge while you drive, but if you plan to take the vehicle on a trip longer than about 140 miles, you'll have to stop for gas about every 70 miles after the first 140. Please also note that driving behavior and usage of the heat or air conditioning will impact the total range. I know this car inside and out as it has been my daily driver for over 3 years.
