Description

If your looking for a small fun car that is also very quick and nimble for its size this car is for you! Driving around with the top off speaks for itself, the experience you get is unmatched. Not only does the top go down but it's also a hard top with a large sunroof that is fully functional. Trunk space isn't that reasonable but neither is junk food and we all love that! You are sure to turn heads wherever you go since the bright red pops in the sunlight. The car gets respectable gas mileage to be so quick, at 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and 22 miles to the gallon in the city you won't have to worry about refueling every second of the day to enjoy the car's performance for mountain driving. This is the perfect sleeper car many people don't know about and it's your time to show them what they're missing!

This was my first time using Turo, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Admittedly, I asked Loe an incessant amount of questions, but he graciously answered them all.

Per the instructions, the car was easy to find in the express deck. The exterior and interior were in immaculate condition.

The convertible top was a fun addition to my drive through the mountains. Although, if you’re looking to bring home a bunch of bad ass antiques, I suggest renting one of Loe’s other vehicles (he has great options!) as trunk space is limited.

Furthermore, filling up the VW is a reasonable price.

Recommend 10/10.

The convertible was perfect for our road trip through the Blue Ridge Parkway. The seats were comfortable and we drove over 1000 miles without any major issues. The only car was reasonably quiet (creaks and squeaks are common on a hardtop convertible of this age when the top is up) The engine was strong and didn't make any weird sounds or smoke. The car interior and exterior was clean. Overall the car is in very good shape. The few issues we had were -
1. Intermittent loss of speed. I think the transmission might need a service since without any warning we would start losing speed and picking back up even though the engine RPM stayed the same. This happened rarely on the first and second day, but quite frequently on the third day. The fourth day it was only once or twice.
2. Constant message that adaptive headlight system has failed even though the lights were working fine.
3. Brakes that would vibrate
under harder braking. But our whole drive was very relaxed pace so we only had to brake hard once or twice.
Thank you for helping us have a great road trip through the South. Please have the three issues above checked out. We would love to rent this car again if we are in the area.

I followed Loe’s instructions on how to get from Charlotte airport to the parking garage where the car was parked. Charlotte airport is under construction and it was clear that his instructions were outdated and incorrect. Eventually, I found the right floor and shuttle bus location. After the shuttle bus dropped us off, there were two identical parking garages. Loe did not specify which parking garage to go in, after 20 minutes of searching for the car I called him and he told me the letter and number of the aisle. That should have been mentioned when we told me where the car was parked. Oh and there was a used bottle of Vaseline next to the driver seat, which tells me the car wasn’t cleaned properly.

It rained the whole time we were in Charlotte. The seal of the car (convertible part) was not good. It dripped and leaked on me and the passenger. The car also has a bumpy ride and feels like it needs suspension work.

Loe's response

In the directions sent to Randal it clearly states which bus to take to get to parking deck, it also states to cross over a pedestrian bridge. The Turo deck is the only parking deck to have a pedestrian bridge so it's easy to distinguish from any other deck. The directions sent to Randle also listed which isle the car would be in clearly. I have proof of pictures showing the car was spotless inside and out, I can only assume Randle was disappointed because his trip was completely rained out.
