Description

The 2013 Porsche Panamera is probably one of the few sport cars that allow easy entry and exit for all passengers. Styled like the 911, the Panamera stands out from other performance sedans. The Panamera is a luxury touring car and performance sedan. With engine output ranging from 300 horsepower to 550 horsepower, the Panamera combines agile steering and resolute stability. The two-wheel drive base model has a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine, while the Panamera S and the Panamera 4S both have a 4.8-liter, V-8 engine. The Panamera GTS offers 430 horsepower with its 4.8-liter, V-8 engine, while the Panamera Turbo and Panamera Turbo S sport a 4.8-liter, twin-turbo, V-8 engine. Every Panamera offers several driving modes to suit various preferences. These modes configure the various aspects of the drive, like transmission and throttle response, and firmness of suspension. The V-8 engines offer an amazing performance while the turbocharged V-8 has the best acceleration. Steering and handling is precise, while the transmission can be urgent when accelerating hard or seamless and fluid when cruising down the freeway. For the respective price tag, each model is properly equipped. Since this is the luxury sport sedan segment, options are plenty. With conveniences such as ventilated and heated rear seats, enhancements like carbon ceramic brake discs, and technology like adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring, the Porsche Panamera does not fail to deliver. While other performance sedans of similar size may consider themselves rivals of the Panamera, this luxury sport car is more of a four-door coupe than a sedan. The Panamera is available with engines that range from a 300-horsepower V6 to a 550-horsepower twin-turbo V8, and test drivers say that even the base engine provides plenty of power. A seven-speed automated manual transmission is standard on all but the Panamera S Hybrid, and auto reviewers agree that it shifts quickly and smoothly. The EPA reports that the V6-powered Panamera gets 18/27 mpg city/highway, which is better than the Lexus LS’ fuel economy, but not as good as the BMW 740i’s. Reviewers agree that the Porsche Panamera handles similarly to a smaller sports car, with accurate steering and strong brakes. In addition, some critics also point out that a well-engineered suspension system gives the Panamera excellent driving dynamics, as well as a comfortable ride. While the 2013 Panamera’s cabin is among the most opulent and finely-crafted you’ll find, a few reviewers are overwhelmed by its center stack. Unlike the 740i and Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, the Panamera has separate buttons and switches instead of a knob-based controller. However, most test drivers agree that its control layout becomes intuitive with use, and that in some cases, having a dedicated button is quicker than shuffling through on-screen menus. While one reviewer thinks the Panamera’s cabin is a bit narrow, most approve of its supportive, comfortable seats. Many test drivers say that the back seats are almost as comfortable as those up front, and the Panamera’s hatchback body style and split-folding rear seats also mean that it can carry more cargo than many super luxury cars. The 2013 Panamera comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation and an 11-speaker stereo with a USB port and Bluetooth. Options and features available on higher trims include front and rear parking sensors, Bose and Burmester sound systems, four-zone automatic climate control, a backup camera, a rear-seat refrigerator, adaptive cruise control and a blind spot monitoring system.

We had a great time with this vehicle! We rented it for a day because my nephew is obsessed with Porsches and we were thrilled to have this lovely car. It drives well, is in great shape, and was immaculately clean. Thanks to Kristen for enabling a wonderful little holiday surprise!

Kristen really is everything that is right with Turo. Very detailed, easy to understand instructions for pickup/dropoff. Every detail was thought of and the transaction was smooth as silk because of the detail she puts into. Car was rock solid and a joy to drive. No issues whatsoever and would rent from Kristen ANYTIME I'm in town. Perfect transaction!
