I'm here to provide an elite level of service and a luxury product for everyone to enjoy, so I ask that you kindly adhere to our guidelines below to ensure everyone using our Tesla's gets the same great experience: 1. Smoking of any kind is not allowed. There will be a $150 fee for cleaning if there is a hint of cigarette or marijuana smell upon return. 2. Please return the Tesla with at least an 80% charge level (If you picked up the car at less than 80% you may return it at the same level of charge). See above for all fees associated with returning below the required charge level. 3. Tire tread depth will be measured before and after your trip. Excessive wear caused by drifting, track use or other extreme activities will be subject to additional fees. 4. Off-roading is not permitted. Per Turo policy, any dirt roads are also considered "Off-Road" and driving on these is not permitted either. 5. Upon return of the vehicle, I do ask that it comes back in the same condition that it was picked up in. There are free vacuums all over town for availability to use at your disposal. The outside of the rental I can take care of, but any excessive dirt or grime on the outside is subject to detail fees. (I do offer a post trip detail package, that allows you to return the vehicle without cleaning if you're running low on time) ***Please note that excessive dirt, grime, crud, smoke, etc will still result in a detail fee to be applied We recommend taking photos of the Tesla at pick up. This ensures if there are any damages upon return you have an accurate record of whether they occurred during your trip.
HOW DO I CHARGE THE TESLA?
There are many charging stations throughout the city where you can recharge your vehicle. However, it's important to note that charging at non-Tesla stations can take significantly longer. For speed and convenience, we recommend using a Tesla Supercharging station. While there is a cost associated with this option, it’s much cheaper and more economical than filling up with gas. If you choose to use a Supercharger, your card will be automatically charged 5-10 minutes after charging is complete. The pricing varies by location, typically around $0.35 per kWh. However, the actual charging rate depends on where you are, so the total cost to charge your Tesla may vary.
WHAT CHARGE LEVEL DO I NEED TO RETURN THE TESLA AT?
To avoid fees, you will need to return the car at equal or greater charge than you received it. (Typically, this will be an 80% or greater charge level). » If returned with a charge level between 51%-80% there's a $10 recharging fee. » If returned with a charge level between 21%-50% there's a $20 recharging fee. » If returned with a charge level between 0%-20% there's a $50 recharging fee.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO CHARGE A TESLA?
Charging Details: Your vehicle will be at 80% charge upon arrival to sustain battery life, but we do recommend charging it higher for longer trips. Your best option is to use a Tesla Supercharger. Typing in the location of your destination is the best way for the vehicle to find supercharging stations along your route, as well as showing what estimated percentage of charge you will have once arriving at the destination. Locating a Supercharger: Click on the "navigate" Click on charging, then press the 3 charging bolts Select the most convenient option for you The charging station you choose will also show how many spots are available and how many are on their way to that station. A Tesla Destination Charger is much less powerful and will charge your vehicle several times slower than a Supercharger but are available at many hotels and parking garages. Third party charging options can also be utilized (we include a J1772 adapter with every vehicle). We recommend using the PlugShare or Chargepoint app to locate third party charging points.
CAN I BRING MY PET ON THE TRIP?
We have a strict NO pet policy and do not allow animals of any kind in our vehicles. You will incur a detail fee should there be evidence that an animal has been in the vehicle during your trip.

The vehicle is owned by Resla. There is no access to the physical key or Tesla app. "Charge Key" app that Resla uses only exists on iOS. Regardless using an app or a web page to access the vehicle is not only inconvenient but you will be locked out if your phone dies, or if either your phone or the car doesn't have Internet access. This is fine for initial access and may have been tolerable for a short rental but I rented for 2 weeks.
Resla support initially seemed helpful and said I could be added to the Tesla app but then changed their mind. They never explained why, they just said "security reasons." This also is a big disappointment in renting a Tesla, since the app has many features, like remote climate control. I was also paranoid when charging since I could not get alerts about the car status, and Tesla has begun charging for "idling" at a charging spot. The web page "app" never broke entirely but needed to refreshed and often was slow to unlock the car. Overall it was a substantial hassle to use.
I spoke with Turo support and they said I could return the car and get a refund since I could not access the iOS app, but my trip was already underway. Surprisingly, Turo said the Charge Key was approved for their platform, but you should *always* get a physical key on Turo per their documentation. If you want the full Tesla experience including app access and a physical key, I would rent from Hertz, or ensure whomever you are renting from will do this. Resla does not.
As for the car itself, it was a very new 2024 Model 3 with ventilated seats (amazing) but without turn signal stalks (stupid). It is the base model, and does not come with a mobile charger, nor full self driving. Be aware that Tesla's Autopilot (Beta) software is still buggy and will experience a software crash periodically, with you needing to take over suddenly. Typically it reboots and will be available again in about 1 minute. The cruise control function (not labeled as beta) also will sometimes slow down suddenly for no reason, and I think it too may have had a software crash or two but I'm not certain. Aside from this, the car drove well. Range is closer to 2-2.5 hrs at today's typical highway speeds, but charging is easy to plan with the built-in navigation or using plugshare.com. Note that Tesla does not have Apple Carplay or Android Auto, which is a bit unusual in 2024.
Pickup and drop-off were quick and easy. The car was spotless on pickup. I did my best to return the car as clean as I could, giving it a hand wash to get the bugs off before returning.
