Description

The standard Volvo V90 was a good car, however, the cross country is significantly nicer. As you would expect, the raised ride height gives the drive that extra feel of elegance and comfort as it glides over Britain's infamous road imperfections. Whether it be on a motorway or a winding B-road, the car will waft through your journey effortlessly. This specific V90 is a B4 model, as it has a 48V mild-hybrid system. This means that although it can't run on its battery alone, it provides seamless start ups, gives a little bit more horsepower, and helps to change between gears. The V90, still, was a car that would stop people in the parking lot, for two reasons; one being that people would be in awe of its subtle metallic black bodywork; and the second being that at nearly 5 metres long, people couldn't squeeze past it. Now you may think that the Cross-Country being advertised as bigger and more spacious than the standard V90 would mean that it would take up more space than it, but thankfully it couldn't. Any longer and it could be classified as a land-yacht, however, despite not being the size of one (by small margins) it most certainly has the luxury of one. The cream coloured interior is very marmite - in metaphorical terms - as you either love it or you hate it, and I personally love it, especially from the outside. It has four zone climate control, and heated seats in all four corners, with the addition of a heated steering wheel and memory seats for the driver. Both seats in the front are more like house chairs to recline in, however only the drivers side is fully electric as the passenger only has the seat base controlled by the electrical switch. An interior is not just about the seats though, and Volvo have carefully thought about this. Over he last five years, they have mastered their 360 degree birds-eye view reversing camera, and infotainment system which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Volvo are also now setting the benchmark with their keyless entry system. When the car is locked, one pull of the handle will not only unlock the car, but also open the door, revealing the interior and the starter knob, which is in a very accessible location in the centre console. This car is most definitely not hanging around for long so I suggest you grab the opportunity while the car is still available.
