We hope you enjoy your drive in this fun to drive and unique plug-in hybrid. When on your journey, we ask that you please take the same care you would with your own car - when it's not being driven by Turo members, it's my favourite ride! We ask that you leave pets at home, out of consideration for others and the protection of the leather interior. No smoking and please don't transport anything dirty or oversized for the car's space, and no use on race tracks. Please drive safe, and if you are in a difficult situation and unsure if you should drive, call an Uber and get in touch with me to pick up the car. No questions asked.

• How do I charge this car?

  The Volt can be charged at any CCS charger and supports level 1 and level 2 charging speeds. Level 2 charging takes about 4 hours to get full and level 1 a little more than 12 hours. Can't charge it at a Tesla supercharger station, but just about anywhere else should work.

• How spacious is the inside?

  There's plenty of room to slide the driver's seat back if there's no one in the back seat. However, if you're accustomed to big roomy SUVs or are taller than 6 feet, you might be more comfortable in another ride.

• Can my pet ride along?

  Sorry! To avoid triggering allergies for others I'd appreciate it if Spot and Mittens took another ride.

• Is there an Apple AirTag in the car?

  Yes, in case of an emergency if for some reason there is an issue with returning the car, there is an AirTag which offers us an approximate location of the car. It can't track constant movement and we won't use it for any reason other than to locate the vehicle in case of a failed return.

• Can I throw out the air freshener?

  Yes. Your comfort is my priority. If you'd rather go without the fragrant little tree hanging from the rear view mirror, be my guest and toss it out!

• The key fob isn't working. What do I do?

  The Volt is a keyless entry and keyless ignition car! In the case that the key fob isn't allowing you to start the car, try this! First - sometimes the signal is interrupted if the key fob is in your left pant pocket or otherwise packed away. Try holding the key fob or putting it in the centre console while pushing the start button. Second - if that didn't work, or you're getting a message on the dashboard that says the battery in the fob is low or dead, reach for the glove box. I've saved a backup key fob battery in there! Here's a video that shows how to change it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEsIuC6LB9g&t=2s Third - if that isn't solving the issue, and maybe the problem is that the key fob got wet, there is in fact a secret key ignition spot in the Volt. It's hidden underneath where the GPS unit is currently attached to the dashboard. So to access this spot, please gently release the suction cup holding the GPS in place, release the latch holding the compartment closed directly under the GPS, then remove the rubber placemat to reveal a keyhole right on the top of the dashboard! Stick the key from the dead key fob into the keyhole, put your foot on the brake - and push the start button on the car. Here's a video to show you how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yX2qtmfGpdI

• Can I smoke in this car?

• How do I connect to the infotainment system?

  To use Android Auto or Apple Car Play, go to "Bluetooth" in the "Settings" menu on the extra infotainment screen on top of the dashboard. Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on! Search for and add your phone here. Follow the instructions on your phone and the infotainment screen to complete the setup. Then, within less than 30 seconds of powering on the car, your phone should connect WIRELESSLY. Try turning off and turning the car on if you've completed these steps and your phone isn't connecting, or switching your phone's Bluetooth on and off. After connecting, successfully to Android Auto the first time it's normally smooth after that! Keep the radio tuner set to 98.1fm for the android auto/Apple carplay audio channel and push the volume knob to turn the stereo on and off. If you have issues with the wireless connection there's a USB port on the left side of the infotainment system. There's a USB cable in the glove box!

• I can't hear my music, what's happening?

  it's likely one of the following. 1) you need to turn the radio tuner on, and dial the knob to 98.1 FM. 2) you need to turn the volume up! when the car starts up, it resets the volume to 11 which can be quite quiet.
