Faqs

  • Do I need to warm up the car in the winter before driving?
All vehicles need to be started and left to idle for several minutes (depending on the severity of the cold) in the winter prior to driving. You should leave the vehicle turned on, idling, until the engine temperature gauge shows 80° (aproximatly mid range) Warming up the car prior to utilization incresases performance, handling, and safety anddecreases the chance of any mechanical failures. Please take the extra couple of minutes to warm up the car prior to use.

Flexible and responsive host. Dependable vehicle.

The car had damages to the outside at pick up (broken and missing parts). Two tires had low air pressure. The floor of the car was covered with debris, and smelled of cannabis. There was no owner’s manual inside the car. When we asked Olexandr basic questions, such as what the recommended tire pressure was, and whether the car had airbags, he responded that this was “way too technical”, and that we should “call the Mazda dealership”. The car was overall not well maintained. We experienced issues with tires. We ended up having to go to a garage and pay $150 of repairs to make the car safe to drive back to Toronto. The cost for these repairs has not been settled. Turo claims the refund is Olexandr’s responsibility, and Olexandr denies responsibility. We would strongly discourage renting this car, or any car, from this host.
