Description

Adorable little Micra - great on gas! Easy to park! Pet friendly, there may be the occasional dog hair in there. Moving friendly, if you don’t have your grandmothers 12 setting mahogany dining room table to transport - hatchback. Knee friendly in the front, not so much in the back. Not off-road (I really mean this one - the car isn't designed for it), Mad Max, or Street Racer friendly. My car does have some damage. It has a broken front bumper and some scrapes because of a previous renter. Everything is documented, so don’t worry about that. It's also my personal car. I haven't had it professionally detailed because it's really expensive, though I go out with a dustbuster and armour-all between every renter. But I have a dog and a child, so there is a certain amount of dirt I can't remove without shampoo-ing the upholstery. But if you want a good car that's easy on your pocket book and great for driving, rent with me. 🙂

Parking details

Parking is on Raglan, or anywhere within the parking zone 13F. Depending on whether it's the beginning or the end of the month, it's on opposite sides of the street. Be sure to check the posted signs and make extra sure that you aren't within 10 feet of a fire hydrant (it's a 100$ ticket). If you can't parallel park, wait for me to come and I'll help you out. ;)

Guidelines

If the outside of the car is dirty when you pick it up and you want it to be clean, please feel free to run it through a basic car wash, and I will reimburse you (take a pic of the car and receipt when you do). I don't wash the outside between every renter because I find it wasteful of water (and money), but i try to run it through a car wash every week. You can connect your phone to the bluetooth, but it does need an AUX cable to connect the music (provided). In order to connect your phone, hit the button on the left of the steering wheel, and follow the prompts. Usually "Replace Phone" is better than "Connect Phone" because the slots are full. I have a magnetized mount in the car, but if you don't have a magnetic plate, you'll need your own mount (working on changing this). PROTIP: If you're using Google Maps, there is a setting to get it to speak through the bluetooth without the aux cable. If you go into the Navigation setting, and select "Play as Bluetooth Phone Call" that will make it go through the speakers even if the aux cable isn't plugged in. Regular gas. There should always be some washer fluid in the trunk if you run out. If there isn't, buy some and I'll reimburse you (take a pic of the receipt, and upload it to the app). The tank is on the driver's side, and the lever to release it is in the footwell on the left hand side of the steering wheel. I hope you enjoy it!

Faqs

  • How do I get to your place?
If you're coming by subway, get off at the HEATH STREET exit of the St Clair W station. That's the one opposite to the main one. If you see colourful murals or snail sculptures, you're going the wrong way. Then, when you get to the street, turn right. My building is the building at the T intersection of Tichester and Bathurst. Call me or buzz me (A Cope) when you get here and I'll bring you to the car. If you're taking the Bathurst bus (7), our cross street is Tichester. If you're coming any other way, meet me at the car. Give the address of 39 Raglan Ave to a taxi driver and call me when you're five mins away.
  • Can I extend or reduce my time? Can I drop off the car early or late?
Yep! Just "request change" through the app if it will be more than an hour or so I can check you in/out appropriately. It might charge you for more time, though. If it's exorbitant (I had one driver running late and Turo wanted an extra 90$ on a 40$ trip, but that was the only time that ever happened) get in contact with me.
  • Halp! I can't get in touch with you!
My phone is sometimes on silent mode, but I always turn it on around drop off/pick up time. If you can't reach me and it's urgent, please call my partner Clayton at 647-741-7627. We both work from home, and his phone has to be on for work.
  • Is there a cut through from Bathurst to Raglan (where the car is parked?)
Yep! Just north of my building, in between the building and the convenience store, there is a narrow (single file pedestrian) alley where the garbage bins are stored. Walk through that to the laneway in the back. When you're at the laneway, you can see the back parking lot to an 8ish story building to your left. Walk through that parking lot to its entrance on the south side, and that's 39 Raglan. My car is parked somewhere along that street.
  • Does your car fit "x" thing?
Surprisingly, the answer is mostly yes. Strollers, band gear, large small animal cages, 10 bags of laundry, groceries, full sized un-disassembled Ikea bookcases (though that was probably not a good idea in retrospect 😂) flat pack, etc. I wouldn't recommend more than two carseats or adults in the back but there are three seatbelts. If you need specific measurements let me know.
  • How do tickets and 407 bills work?
Please be very careful with parking the car on Raglan, there are hydrants and the ticket is expensive (100$). It is your responsibility to park it where you won't get a ticket. If you take the 407, the bill will come later. I can request a reimbursement through the app. I will upload a picture of the bill or ticket and ask for reimbursement.
  • What's the best way to piss you off/not get a five star rating?
I am generally easygoing about flexibility/drop off/pick up/etc. That said, PLEASE COMMUNICATE anything off schedule. If you've booked the car for 7am on a Saturday but aren't planning on showing up until 10am, please let me know. If there's a seven car pile up on each side of the 401 and you're stuck in a line of traffic from Kingston, please let me know. If it starts making a weird noise while you're driving it, please let me know. The second thing is to make sure the car is in the same state that you got it in. I'm usually a total slob, but I work very hard to keep my car clean for my renters. It's me and a dustbuster, no house elves involved! If you've used the car to haul 500 pounds of gravel screening for your zen rock garden, vacuum it out before you return it. If you've driven 50km on a muddy gravel road, wash the outside (even if it was a little dirty beforehand). NOTE: If it takes me more than 15 minutes to clean up after you, I will charge you a cleaning fee (40$). Or, get the 'return the car dirty' extra (20$) beforehand, and don't worry about it. :) It's my own personal car, no 'hidden rental agency' here. Treat it as you would your own. :)
