Best in show<\/h3>\n

I went to the 60th Annual San Francisco International Auto Show, saw all the cars, and took lots of pictures.\u00a0The show was held last week at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco, and featured just about every model you can buy in the US. Which is a lot of models.<\/p>\n

Outside the Moscone Center, attendees tore through the crowded downtown blocks in test-drive cars. Inside, acres of meticulously wiped-down machines rested and bore the poking and ogling from thousands of people. Check out the most ogle-worthy highlights from the 2017 San Francisco Auto Show!<\/p>\n

Directly in front of the main entrance’s escalators, three McLarens greeted the guests, flaunting their riches and dihedral doors. Front and center was the hybrid hypercar McLaren P1, a superhero among ordinary citizens. This one had an upgraded performance package, and according to the McLaren rep, is worth $3.1 million big ones.<\/p>\n

Ford had the most dramatic toy in its room \u2014 an elevated articulating racing simulator. The line quickly ballooned to circle the booth twice over. The 2018 Ford Mustang was also there to display its freshly completed rhinoplasty.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For my money, the star of the show was this Acura NSX GT3 race car. Gleaming unpainted carbon weave body, fat rear wing, and already-tracked Pirelli rubber. Yes, yes, and yes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Rotating proudly on its plinth was Kia’s first performance-focused model, the Stinger GT, which is aimed at more frugal BMW and Mercedes buyers. Its turbocharged 3.3L V6 makes a chunky 365 horsepower, and the base Stinger GT can be had for less than $40,000. Polestar AKA Volvo Blue’s V60 wagon was looking pretty, as was the refreshed Porsche Panamera.<\/p>\n

The Aston Martin Owner’s Club paddock featured some lovely vintage Astons. The one-of-a-kind DB2\/4 “Rasputin” and a couple of first-generation Vantages made strong impressions. Nearby, the wild Pagani Huayra lurked next to a Lamborghini Aventador SV.<\/p>\n

The Academy of Art University had a stable of restored vintage machines, each more glorious than the next. Among the highlights were a Buick Riviera coupe, a couple of ’30’s Rollers, and a one-off 1931 Buick Limited Opera Brougham. A separate room for the modded streetcars of the Stance Nation squad added an interesting flavor to an all-around great show.<\/p>\n
