In fact, the end of winter is the best time of year to be in Phoenix, because Arizona\u2019s winter is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant places to be. Why? Winter in Arizona likely resembles the summer that you\u2019re used to anywhere else.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phoenix has become hot spot for all age groups. Whether you\u2019re a college student flocking from one of the three flagship schools (University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State University), a suburban family settling in the comfortable Awahtukee area, or a retiree looking to get away to the secluded hills of Scottsdale, Phoenix has something and somewhere for you. <\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty to do in the Phoenix sunshine, from breathtaking hikes to bottomless brunch. Here is a guide to your average late winter\u00a0day in the desert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hiking<\/span><\/h3>\n

The beauty of the desert is often overlooked, but once you immerse yourself in the \u00a0the jagged mountains that surround the city of Phoenix, it\u2019s hard to miss why Phoenicians consider hiking one of their favorite pastimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re taking a quick four-mile hike up the famous Camelback Mountain or taking in the unmatchable views on the longer trek of Havasupai Falls, to come to Phoenix and not take advantage of the mild weather hiking season is a crime. Hey, if you\u2019re feeling extra adventurous, the Grand Canyon is only about 330 miles north of Phoenix, just a short car ride away!<\/span><\/p>\n

Brunch<\/span><\/h3>\n

Looking for bottomless mimosas? You have options. <\/span>The District<\/span>, in Scottsdale\u2019s hip Old Town, boasts about their famous \u201cliquid brunch\u201d, which offers $15 mimosas with $.01 refills. While <\/span>RNR<\/span>, also located in Scottsdale, offers a similar \u2014 as they like to say, \u201ckeep \u2018em coming\u201d \u2014 deal with $15 bottomless mimosas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Boozy brunch not your style? You must go to <\/span>Gladly<\/span><\/a>, which was voted \u201cBest Sunday Brunch\u201d by the <\/span>Phoenix New Times<\/span><\/i>. Better yet, if you\u2019re not in the mood for breakfast, Gladly is the home of the famous \u201cOriginal Chopped Salad\u201d (which is heaven in a bowl).<\/span><\/p>\n

Sports<\/span><\/h3>\n

One major part of Phoenix this time of year is their love of two big sports events: <\/span>Waste Management Open<\/span><\/a> (WMO) and <\/span>Spring Training<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The WMO comes to Phoenix every year in early February. It\u2019s an exciting tournament where the best pro golfers come to town along with crowds of golf fans, and every college student in the state, to enjoy sunshine, golf, great food, and up-to-par amusement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Spring training is another amazing way for sports lovers to enjoy Phoenix. You can enjoy watching baseball players warm up for their upcoming season in one of the ten stadiums that sprawl all over Phoenix, which host 15 teams including the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco Giants, and the Kansas City Royals. This year\u2019s training is beginning\u00a0and will continue on until the teams settle back in their hometowns for regular season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Night life<\/span><\/h3>\n

Two words: Old Town. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a variety of options when deciding where to hit the town in Phoenix. You can swing by the southwestern-themed <\/span>El Hefe<\/span><\/a>, the hip and popular <\/span>Bottled Blonde<\/span><\/a>, or you can head back to the District for a second round after brunch. However, at the top of the list is <\/span>Maya Day and Night Club<\/span><\/a>, which is a scene plucked straight from Las Vegas and offers year-round pool parties and DJs like Calvin Harris and Skrillex for big events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry if you\u2019re not in the mood to walk to and from one bar to the next, Old Town has a golf cart taxi service, \u201c<\/span>Caddy Rides<\/span><\/a>\u201d, where you and your comrades can pile into a golf cart and coast up and down the strip at your leisure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that you\u2019ve had a small taste of what the desert has to offer, it\u2019s hard to swallow that, somewhere, you are currently shivering through your days when you know that there is endless summer just south and west.<\/span><\/p>\n
