Lamborghini proudly likes to claim, \u201cWe are not supercars. We are Lamborghini.\u201d Even if you know very little about supercars you can relate to what they are talking about because when you see a Lamborghini, you <\/span>know<\/span><\/i> it\u2019s a Lamborghini. Very few manufacturers design cars that are consistently as striking, but with the signature single-stroke design from front to back Lamborghini\u2019s supercars distinguish themselves from the rest. Add to that the goosebump-inducing sound of a V10 and the bull on the hood and you are sure to turn heads as you drive along.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adam’s 2017 Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n<\/p><\/div>\n

This is a company that started with making tractors and only switched to sports cars because of a personal strife<\/a> between Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari. They have some motorsport heritage but it pales when compared to Ferrari, which is only a few miles from Lamborghini\u2019s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese. And given Lamborghini is now owned by Audi, they are no longer 100% Italian \u2014 which could be a good thing if you put the Germans in charge of reliability. All of that combined is what makes them so special \u2014 it is their not-so-secret sauce if you will. The results speak for themselves too. In the early 2000s Lamborghini sold more Gallardos than all other Lamborghinis produced, ever. The baby Lambo was a massive hit which meant they had a bit of a pickle on their hands when it was time to find a successor. Enter the Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n \u2014 our car of the month for October.<\/span><\/p>\n

Per tradition, the Hurac\u00e1n is named after a famous fighting bull and means \u201cHurricane\u201d in Spanish. The car boasts mind-boggling numbers just like the Ferrari 488 GTB or the McLaren 720s. Lamborghini did play it a little safe though by re-purposing the engine from the Gallardo but not without some modifications. The engine can shut off half the cylinders when coasting to improve efficiency and it has a brand new dual-clutch gearbox, transplanted from the Audi R8. The car can transform from a perfectly normal road car to a monster that wants to rip your head off at the flip of a button. All of that makes it a winning recipe as the Hurac\u00e1n is out-selling the Gallardo by 70%.<\/span><\/p>\n
