If you are a petrolhead, you may not be a big fan of electric cars. My biggest gripe is the sound, or the lack thereof. The missing vibrations, gear-shifts, and rumble take away so much of the visceral feel I get from driving. It\u2019s really hard to imagine why anyone would want an electric car over the likes of a Porsche 911, a Jaguar F-Type, or an Audi R8. Whether we like it or not though, electric cars are here to stay and the cars we see on the roads today will soon be endangered species, if they aren\u2019t already.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nigel’s Tesla Model S<\/p><\/div>\n

Why then, is a Tesla our car of the month for May? Simply put, the advent of electric cars was bleak news for any enthusiast until the Model S came along and completely changed the game. The upscale styling, the low center of gravity due to the battery pack being in the floor, and the ludicrous mode of acceleration are all proof that these are cars designed by enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

The thought of electric cars has always made me sad, but Tesla changed that. Quite frankly, I\u2019d take an electric car over any car that will whine unnecessarily or one that doesn\u2019t have any style or power. The vast majority of regular cars are no fun to drive but a Model S is so much fun, and that, hopefully, is a sign of things to come. If you have never experienced a Tesla, try finding one <\/span>near you<\/span><\/a>. Be warned though, going back to your daily driver may feel like going back in time.<\/span><\/p>\n
