Father and son duo <\/span>Mark and Chris<\/span><\/a> have always been business partners. Over the years, they\u2019ve teamed up for various business ventures, including a website-building company \u2014 back in the day \u2014 where they had to convince potential clients that the internet was going to be a big deal someday. Visionaries? Some might say. <\/span><\/p>\n

After taking that business public and eventually selling it, they started figuring out what was next. \u201cI\u2019ve always been into fast cars,\u201d Chris says. \u201cI used to have a Mustang GT and we would work on it day in and day out.\u201d On the hunt for a new business venture, Chris and his dad noticed a hole in the exotic rental<\/a> market in Houston and leapt at the opportunity.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new business is born<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cWe had wanted to get a few supercars for fun, and then realized that there were very few reputable exotic dealerships and rental agencies in Houston. We saw a pretty big opportunity to do things the right way,\u201d Chris recalls. And so <\/span>City Center Exotics<\/span><\/a> was born, a boutique supercar rental agency with an eye for quality vehicles, a dedication to top-notch customer service, and\u00a0<\/span>\u201cbuilt on the pillars of transparency, of what you see is what you get\u201d in a not-always-so-transparent industry.<\/p>\n

Catering to the car enthusiast segment, \u201cwe pride ourselves on providing high quality cars. Houston is the third largest supercar market in the US, after Miami and LA,\u201d he notes, so the market is bustling and the demand is there. <\/span><\/p>\n

A super collection of supercars<\/span><\/h3>\n

And man, does City Center Exotics deliver on the supercar promise! From ultra luxury to legit supercars, Chris and Mark fuel\u00a0a car enthusiast\u2019s dream. \u201cPeople rent the Rolls-Royce a lot for weddings and business meetings,\u201d Chris notices. Business people frequently lean on the Rolls to entertain clients and close deals, he finds. The Aston and the Bentley, he observes, are popular for locals and tourists who simply want to treat themselves to a little opulence \u2014 \u201cthey\u2019re just super classy cars,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

His current personal favorite? \u201cProbably the NSX. We knew it was going to a be huge hit; it\u2019s been <\/span>over 10 years<\/span><\/a> since they last released their only supercar\u201d \u2014 the flagship American-manufactured supercar \u2014 so they figured it was on a lot of enthusiasts\u2019 radars. Popularity aside, \u201cit looks phenomenal, and it\u2019s probably the most comfortable supercar I\u2019ve ever driven,\u201d he swoons. Having taken it to a few meetups and seen the NSX cult fandom in full swing, he notes, \u201cpeople just flock to it like you\u2019re some sort of rockstar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A super community<\/span><\/h3>\n

Doing their part to cultivate and germinate the up-and-coming supercar community in Houston, Mark and Chris are settling in nicely to their new business venture renting out exotic cars. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of different businesses over the year, but this one\u2019s by far the most fun,\u201d Chris jokes. City Center Exotics enables them to collect the cars they love to drive while offsetting the costs through their rentals. And they get to share their love of these automotive icons with like-minded gearheads, which, if you\u2019re a member of the enthusiast community, you know is half the fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe go to meetups nearly every weekend, whether it\u2019s \u2018Cars and coffee\u2019, \u2018Cars and cocktails\u2019, or just supercar meetups. There\u2019s a pretty large community of people here in Houston,\u201d he says. <\/span><\/p>\n
