The Geneva Motor Show is the best motor show. And if you didn\u2019t hear, the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which wrapped up this past weekend, was a little crazy. Numerous pre-show leaks and a churning rumor-mill only served to stoke the excitement for the myriad concept reveals and new supercars.<\/span><\/p>\n The news coming out of this year\u2019s show could be assembled into a multi-volume encyclopedia, so we\u2019ve chiseled all that down to some of the more noteworthy\u00a0reveals. Take a look:<\/span><\/p>\n This roadster may have the name of a fax machine, but it doesn\u2019t look like one. The EXP 12 Speed 6e (the \u2018e\u2019 means electric, and is the only part of the name that makes sense to me) is Bentley\u2019s first fully-electric concept, and just look at it. They\u2019ve swapped the engine for an electric motor that should allow it to go about as far as a Chevy Bolt, but with infinitely more style. The interior is typical copper-accented Bentley opulence, but they\u2019ve cut the top off the steering wheel for some reason. No matter <\/span>\u2014<\/span> this concept is not yet confirmed for production so there are likely some changes to come.<\/span><\/p>\n Six minutes and 52 seconds. That\u2019s how long it took the Hurac\u00e1n Performante to lap the Nurburgring, which is a record. It is very orange, has many ultralight carbon pieces, and carries Lambo\u2019s most powerful 5.2L V10 ever produced. But the real secret is the Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva, or active aerodynamics to you and me. There are flaps and wings that constantly adjust to optimize the Performante\u2019s shape, and under full braking, Lamborghini says the rear wing produces 750% more vertical downforce than the regular version. The first customer deliveries will begin this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n This robot shark from the future is actually McLaren\u2019s newest and slipperiest supercar. Every part of the 720S is new, and McLaren says it is twice as aerodynamically efficient as the 650S it replaces. There are inlets and slits shaped by science and the rear wing is more active than ever. This is the kind of car that looks fast standing still. There are many things we could say about the 720S, but right now we just prefer to stare.<\/span><\/p>\n Ok, so it\u2019s not really a coupe, but boy does it look good. This concept, billed by some as AMG\u2019s answer to the Panamera, is equipped with AMG\u2019s turbocharged 4.0L V8 and an electric motor. \u00a0AMG likes to make purposeful concepts that are close to production versions, so the GT Coupe, which will hit production in 2018, is a good indicator that AMG is moving towards hybrid powertrains. The \u201cEQ Power+\u201d badge on the side is likely to pop up on future concepts, for better or worse.<\/span><\/p>\n The production 2017 Civic Type R is coming to the US. Rejoice! Honda has “toned down” this Type R for broader appeal, but it still looks nuts. Behind the manic, bulging face, a direct-injected, turbocharged 4.0L inline-four makes 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Ample scoops and carbon go-faster bits on the exterior will definitely differentiate this Civic from your sister\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n The 2017 RUF CTR may look like a 911, but it was not built by Porsche. This is an all-new handcrafted car built with a RUF-designed carbon monocoque chassis and what must be a lot of clever engineering. RUF unveiled this model at Geneva to honor the 30th anniversary of the legendary original 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird. All 30 units are spoken for, but RUF plans to develop future models on the same frame.<\/span><\/p>\n Purists, assemble! The 2018 911 GT3 will have a <\/span>naturally aspirated <\/span><\/i>4.0L flat-six boasting 500 hp, 339 lb-ft of torque, and a 9000 rpm redline. Also, an optional six-speed manual transmission, so Porsche is listening to you frustrated gear-rowing enthusiasts. Everything about this GT3 points to it being absolutely excellent, which is nothing less than we\u2019d expect from Porsche. With the standard PDK, the GT3 achieves 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and tops out at 197 mph. It hits US dealers this fall and starts at $145,000.<\/span><\/p>\n The Arteon is replacing the CC as VW\u2019s flagship fastback sedan. Does the shape look good? Does it look familiar? It should <\/span>\u2014 <\/span>there\u2019s an Audi A7 underneath, and we aren\u2019t complaining about it. The Arteon sits above the Passat in the VW lineup and will offer a range of turbocharged six-cylinder engines, half of which are diesel and won\u2019t come to America. US specs and pricing will be announced closer to 2018 when the Arteon will go on sale.<\/span><\/p>\n The Volvo XC60 is what you\u2019d get if an elephant sat on an XC90. Shorter, more squat, but still looking good. With the XC60\u2019s styling, Volvo did what Volvo does best and that\u2019s stay the course. Rather than being dull or conservative, however, the XC60 looks fantastic and should sell in huge numbers for Volvo. Expect competency and quality with this one.<\/span><\/p>\n Qashqai means \u201ca horse with a white forehead\u201d in Qashqai (it\u2019s also a language). We\u2019re not quite sure what that has to do with the facelifted 2017 Qashqai, but that\u2019s what it means. Sold as the Rogue in the US, the Qashqai will move you and potentially a few other persons from one place to another.<\/span><\/p>\nBentley EXP 12 Speed 6e<\/span><\/h3>\n
