As we look forward to 2017, it\u2019s worth reflecting on how 2016 has been a landmark year for Turo. Looking back on the last 12 months, I feel so proud of everything that we have achieved \u2014 both as a business and as a flourishing, global community \u2014 here are some of my thoughts on the year\u2019s highlights. <\/span><\/p>\n

O, Canada!<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chronologically, our first epically huge milestone of the year was <\/span>our Canadian launch<\/span><\/a>, marking two significant firsts: our first market expansion outside the United States, and Canada\u2019s first peer-to-peer car rental marketplace<\/a>. And Canadians have received us with open arms \u2014 since our April launch, we\u2019ve garnered over 100,000 signups in 250 cities north of the border, with 2,000 vehicle listings across 400+ different makes and models listed for rent in the marketplace. And those numbers are growing by the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

On more personal note, I\u2019ve been inspired to witness our Canadian team and community develop into the supportive, tight-knit collective they are today in the seven short months since launch. Kudos to the team and community, for a dynamite first year!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bachmanity!<\/span><\/h3>\n

Next up, <\/span>our collaboration with HBO<\/span><\/a> to list the Aviato car from their hit show <\/span>Silicon Valley <\/span><\/i>has been by far one of the most fun initiatives of the year. From channeling the surly and, uh, idiosyncratic personality of a hyperbolized caricature of startup ridiculousness to crashing TechCrunch Disrupt in true Erlich Bachman fashion, it\u2019s been a wild (and rather meta) ride. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
