The following features are only available on iOS and Android at the moment; web is coming soon.

FEATURES

In the “Car details” portion of your listing, you can add structured features, including whether you car has:

Bluetooth

Child seats

USB input

Toll pass

Snow tires or chains

Heated seats

A sunroof

Is pet friendly

You can also add additional features that aren’t in the pick list, like autopilot.

FAQS

Another often-asked-for addition, you can now add answers to frequently asked questions about your car, saving you time from repeatedly fielding the same inquiries.

BASIC & NOT SO BASIC DETAILS

Additionally, you can include basic car details in the description, such as the number of seats and doors, fuel type, and fuel consumption metrics (MPG). You can also add free-form parking details in your “Location”, and delivery details in the “Delivery & airports” section of “Your car”.

Because the specific detail you provide appears in a very easy-to-read, digestible interface for travelers searching for cars, you’ll get more traffic and bookings by travelers well suited to your car.

Get requests that work better for you

Now you can get super-specific about your availability, so you only get trip requests that work for you and your schedule.

PICKUP & RETURN HOURS

Try adjusting your daily availability for pickup and return by day of the week to account for different schedules on different days. That way, you’ll only get requests for trips that start and end when you’re actually available to meet travelers. You can add up to two time ranges per day, so if you work 9–5 during the week, you could make yourself available from, say, 7–9 am and 5–10 pm Monday through Friday, while making yourself more available on the weekends.

You can also set specific dates as unavailable for pickup and return, so if, for instance, you’re going on vacation and want to rent out your car while you’re away, you can mark your vacation dates as unavailable for pickup and return, in order to only get requests for trips that start before you leave and end after you’re back.

You can find this setting in your new “Owner settings” section.

ADVANCE NOTICE

Now you can allow different advance notice for different locations. You may, for instance, be able to accommodate a request at home at the drop of a dime, but for a delivery across town, you may need a few hours or a day lead time.

Set advance notice from your “Trip preferences” section in your car settings.

LONGER TRIPS FOR WEEKENDS

In many markets, demand tends to peak on the weekends, so we’ve added a new tool to allow you to capitalize on that. If you currently have your minimum trip duration set to one day or less, you’ll now have the option to require a two-day minimum for trips starting on Friday or Saturday. That way, you’re able to maximize weekend earnings while leaving the door open for shorter trips during the week.

Tweak this setting from your “Trip preferences”.

LATE NIGHT LATITUDE

Now you’ll have a little extra time to respond to late-night requests. If a trip request (or a change request to a current trip) comes in between 8 pm and 2 am, you’ll now have until 10 am the next day to respond. This tweak limits the possibility of late-night requests expiring and lets you lock in those trips.

LONG-TERM RENTALS

For car owners who prefer long-duration rentals, you can now block short-term rental requests by setting your minimum trip duration to either two weeks or one month. Adjust your duration settings in your “Trip preferences”.

More flexibility for you

These changes aim to give both you and your guests the best possible experience when arranging rentals — they provide as much detail as possible up front in your vehicle listing so travelers know what they’re getting, and they enable you to be super specific about what types of trips you’re ready and able to accept.

With more specificity and less need for back-and-forth before booking, these changes also make it easier for everyday owners to benefit from Book Instantly, which not just garners more interest in your car, but also streamlines the booking process.

Enrich your listing, get better requests The latest round of community-requested product enhancements is in!
