Tesla offers a lower-priced X<\/span><\/h3>\n

Tesla Motors recently added <\/span>a lower-priced version of it Model X crossover<\/span>, the Model X 60D. The new model is offered at $74,000, which shimmies down to $66,500 after the federal tax credit is applied. Still a pretty penny for sure, but all the more approachable now for a more budget-conscious audience who want a roomier electric option (although <\/span>Jalopnik thinks<\/span><\/a> the X should have just gone full van, especially since <\/span>an electric van smoked a Model S and a Ferrari <\/span><\/a>in a drag race). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other Tesla fangirl news, you can now <\/span>3D print a supercharger station<\/span><\/a> to charge your phone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Save your Pok\u00e9 balls for the sidewalk<\/span><\/h3>\n

With the world collectively swooning (or perhaps \u2018nerding out\u2019 is a more apt phrase) over the hugely successful online VR game, Pok\u00e9mon Go, it comes as no surprise that there has already been a <\/span>car crash attributed to the game<\/span><\/a>, with the driver fighting and collecting the little monsters in the moments leading up the crash.<\/span><\/p>\n

The moral? Don\u2019t train your Pok\u00e9mon and drive. Or, for that matter, don\u2019t <\/span>flock to a police station<\/span><\/a> that just so happens to be a Pok\u00e9stop.<\/span><\/p>\n

China throws its hat into the self-driving EV ring<\/span><\/h3>\n

Future Mobility, venture backed by Tencent and Hon Hai Precision Industries, has announced that they will launch an electric, self-driving car by 2020. Entering a crowded playing field dominated by American company Tesla, Future Mobility is \u201cone of an expanding of China-backed ventures that aim to take of Tesla Motors as green energy car sales boom in China,\u201d <\/span>according to <\/span>Fortune<\/span><\/i><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mercedes putts on the green<\/span><\/h3>\n

Mercedes revealed a new model<\/span><\/a> to add to its portfolio last week. The only catch? It\u2019s a bit small and pokey for the Autobahn. It\u2019s actually a \u201cGolf Car\u201d (aka a golf cart), is built from carbon fibre, and comes fully equipped with heated seats, a GPS, and fridge for stashing a couple cold ones to keep your chill game up to par.<\/span><\/p>\n
