In the world of EVs, we\u2019re barely out of the Bronze Age (depending on who you ask). After the Tesla Model S debuted in 2012, it took until just last year<\/a> for any major automaker to release a high-end EV with sports car performance and decent battery range. The Porsche Taycan is that car \u2014 it boasts the sophistication, polish, and performance that\u2019s typical of Porsche<\/a>, and most who\u2019ve had the privilege of driving a Taycan come away very impressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cory\u2019s 2021 Porsche Taycan here is in base trim, which for 2021 means rear-wheel drive and a cheaper price tag at the dealership (2020 base models are all-wheel drive). It\u2019s still quick with one motor in the rear \u2014 5.1 seconds to 60 mph \u2014 and should manage over 250 miles of range with reasonable driving. Everything else you\u2019d want with a luxury sedan, you get: the blood-red interior is laden with tech including heated and cooled seats, big touchscreens, plenty of easy connectivity, and all the safety features that are standard today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Development of electric vehicles is on a blistering pace, and we\u2019ll surely see even more incredible EVs over the coming years. There are now a few more options for engaging luxury EVs not named Tesla, and the Taycan is one you should definitely check out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
